- Homestead Brooklyn kicked off the FIRST LA Plant Swap '19 (fondly known as "Plantchella" by guests) with our co-partner Health-Ade Kombucha at the AWA Oasia. Over 100 guests arrived, plants in tow, to a sold-out event with a spread of drinks and food; a panel featuring Garden School Foundation and Health-Ade; and so much enthusiasm around trading plants. All ticket sales were donated to the Garden School Foundation.

I went to a plant swap recently and it was so different! For every plant you bought, you got a ticket at the door that you could use. 1 ticket=1 plant. I was really disappointed, actually. I brought some really hard to find plants, and ended up with very common ones. I won't be attending again unless it was set up like yours. Well done on the organization of that.
I love that it's a swap and not a sale, makes it so much more accessible, fun, and social :)!

You are blessing us with all these videos. I started my plant research about two months ago & two weeks ago I bought my first plant, hoya carnosa & I already am up to 17. Love your videos! Hope to meet you one day. I was born on a country back in the Philippines and I miss gardening. Mom and I used to have various kinds or cacti and orchids. Now in trying to plant some herbs and indoor plants in my tiny apartment in Oakville Canada. More power to you! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.

I would definitely love to go through your blog post and try arranging some sort of interesting,awesome swap nearby my place...we don’t have much like swaps actually here I believe,though we have some good plant communities.Like..orchids, or Succulents etc...hmm I need to dig some more for this😎Keep growing dear you’re amazing!🤟🏻

What I thought was amazing was what you said at the end of your video that much of what we do today is digital... Well little did you know then that the next couple of years we would be doing almost everything digitally. I am looking forward to attending my first group plant swap. I have always just checked the ads and taken some plants with me to meet an individual. I am having trouble finding a plant swap event Here in Kern County, CA. I would have to drive over 100 miles to one in Los Angeles. No wonder people drive so far to attend. I wish I could start one that meets on a regular basis in Bakersfield. If anyone would like to attend, let me know.

That looks amazing! I've been going to some local plant swaps in my area for years that were organized as part of gardenweb an online plant forum. The ones here have mostly been for outdoor plants, perennials, veggie starts, etc. Occasionally someone will bring a few house plants. They are really fun and a great way to spend time with other plant freaks. Your houseplant swap looks really fun too! I hope your video will inspire one or several of them here!

I started a Facebook for my hometown, there are only under 15.000 and got over 100 members know. The idea was to try and start plant swap. But do to illness and many other setbacks in life, I still haven't accomblished it after a year. I had watched the videos a couple of time but it stress me too much out for a extream sensitiv and not so out going person. But I hope I will have the strength this year.
