Love. It was class of 1980 made. 80s room keep my 80s concerts things. 80s had best fashions. Tv shows. Movies. Best cars. Music. Compare that to days hits.
I LOVE IT!!!! LET'S BRING EVERYTHING BACK!!!! TOTALLY AWSOME VIDEO!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
Twist- a- beads, bow shoe clips, dresses with 3 different color layers, single pony tail on top of head, banana combs, tri-color gold necklaces & bracelets.
I forgot about all my swatch watches I used to have!!! Style was fun in the 80's!!! Tacky, but so fun! Favorite time in my life by far!!
I have a collection of 47 Swatches from the 80s-early 90s. I wear a different one every week. I would buy one or two every other paycheck back then. I even have one of the originals---Technosphere--with the lightning bolt minute hand, and the florescent green ring, and it's a skeleton watch. Most of mine are the men's versions. Still quirky and fun to this day. (Jan Griffiths).
And none of mine are for sale, not even my Keith Haring one. (Jan Griffiths).
I grew up in Orange County during the 80s. Trends were influenced by surfing. Rayban sunglasses with interchangeable parts. Boom boxes (ghetto blasters) were replaced by the Walkman. Ocean Pacific (OPs) shirts/shorts, & Vans shoes.
I live there!
OP for sure. Did kids have the fad of wearing forks and spoons as bracelets there?
Jams shorts were the bomb along with band buttons on your Levi’s jackets!!
I love and miss the 1980s I’m new subscriber and really looking forward to everything 80s your great channel has to offer 👾
I don't remember jazz caps! Now I want one. :)
I like the scene from Star Trek--The Voyage Home used for the ghettoblaster segment. One of my favorite films. The punk was Kirk Thatcher, an associate producer of the film. He is credited for the role. (Jan Griffiths).
I won a high hair contest at an under 21 club in Philly when I was 14! I was so proud and my hair measured in at 13" respectively 😁
Thank you love this
I miss my parachute pants! More pockets than you could ever need! They were seafoam green and I couldn't live without them. They were so comfortable!
80s was a good decade
The best!!!
I prefer the 90s
Damn. There was a new trend in the 80's every week. Even with all the social media trends we have nowadays, we could never out do the wild stuff that was happening back in the 80's
I remember kids having to take their hats off in the classroom, especially during the morning pledge of allegiance. It was a show of respect.
Spuds McKenzie shirts! I remember so many people wearing those. 😊
I still have 3. 2 tees, and 1 tank top. Spuds actually was a girl dog named Honey Tree Evil Eye. (Jan Griffiths).
There was a knockoff of Spuds called Rude Dog. I have 1 of those too. (Jan Griffiths).
I miss the boom boxes
I remember the really big thick fluorescent shoe laces
Espadrilles and Dockside shoes should've been on the list. So should Stone wash jeans, huge shoulder pads and wristbands. Tank tops, neon colors and fancy earrings for guys and let's not forget the mullet.
And jelly bracelets and shoes,, charm necklaces and United Colors of Bennaton clothing and the brand Pasta! The 80's we're awesome!!!
I remember going to clubs wearing my black members only jacket with a white dress shirt and thin black tie. I thought I looked sauve. LOL !
I still have my black MO jacket. I bought it slightly too big. I also have a navy blue, a teal, and a lighter periwinkle blue one. Still wear them today. Remember the tagline---when you put it on, something happens? (Jan Griffiths).
Love your videos Kevin!
In 9th grade my boyfriend bought me a Swatch for Christmas. I couldn’t believe it. I knew he was madly in love with me.
I remember the ones that were digital and they pretty much covered your whole wrist and then you got different rubber bands for them they came in really useful at the blind School caress partially blind students
I freaking love Swatch. Both loud and colorful and minimalist at the same time. My favorite 80's fashion, though, is the Memphis design. The insane geometric designs and clashing colors, it's just so bizarrely beautiful.
Many Swatch watches are in the Memphis/Milano design. Those are the ones I really focused on getting. 18 of the 47 Swatches in my collection are of this design. I love Memphis as well, and have painted a few walls in my home in the design. It was time consuming though---had to get lines right, circles round, and other shapes just so. I spent a couple of weeks on each one. But they look great--nice and bright. (Jan Griffiths).
I was Class of 1984. The first half of the 80s was Members Only jackets (I still have mine, and it fits), Docksides shoes, skinny ties, shoulder pads, sweaters around the neck, Izod polo shirts and RayBan Aviator sunglasses. We wore these when we rollerskated to Queen, Chicago, and Hall & Oates, played Asteroids and PacMan at the arcade, went to the movies to see Footloose, and cruised through town in our Camaros and Fieros. I
Only geeks had computers and no one had cell phones. Gas was 50 cents a gallon, minimum wage was 3
$3.05, and a movie on Friday night cost $6 for you AND your date.
I remember the Members Only jackets.
I still have 4 of them. (Jan Griffiths).
What about the brand "Le Bag" - the iconic ’80s fashion statement in ladies’ handbags? I have yet to see any CZcams retro channel feature it in their lineup.
i still like the scent of exclamation. In the 90s i used to bye it for my girlfriends. everyone got it sooner or later. :)
Hypercolor was cool. I loved my boyfrieds shirt. Had a swatch watch but when they first came out. May have returned it. Was stupid cheap plastic. Why would you need to wear a cap in the classroom? Holy crap i still have 2 pair of bum jean shorts i still fit in. Bang poofs are the best! I miss those the most! Lack of height in the front makes my face look sad. All the other fads posted on this video i managed to avoid. Outdoor theaters! That was the last 80’s refuge.off the shoulder sweatshirts cause the neckline was ripped out. Big gawdy earrings.
How about the distressed leather bomber jacket
New 501s came stiff but not sure how you could describe them as pale.
Well Kevin I would say studd belts because they are still just as popular even today they still have them around
Eastland's or boat shoes! Slouch socks!
My older sister wore her hair big and poofy when she was in high school. I was a little girl then so I wore my hair long and in ribbons. I also wore frilly dresses.
Retro can you give me an honest response but is your channel DESIGNED to NOT be talked about much like a ''hidden gem'' or something but I used to literally be ashamed to talked about retro stuff in eras I didnt come up in hahaha
Definitely #teambuttonfly 😍
Button fly was cool but the end of the keg party the top two buttons were undone
Team zipper...🤘🏼💯✔️
Sorry I missed it....the sound was taken off 😔 before I got to see it
Anybody remember the jelly shoes?
Bugle Boys and Z Cavaricci.
I forgot all about Z Cavaricci!
Never heard of hyper color.
Hypercolor shirts were fun. They had to be washed in cold water by hand, not wrung out, not dried in the dryer, or outside in the sun. That would damage the color changing ability. I have 2 still, and they both work the way they're supposed to. I don't wear them often, because of the high maintenance to clean them. (Jan Griffiths).
I have a 10 year old
He dresses somewhat normal by choice but some of the other kids...i see clear signs the 80s are trying to come back
Ugly mullets, socks pulled up nearly to the knee. Shorts are getting shorter
And this might be more 70s but honestly i thought it was exclusive to the Brady bunch. Teen boys are paying to get perms. Wtf? Why?
Also they've taken to dying their hair blonde. I did that in the late 90s as a young adult
Of course I think it looks dumb now. But it was perfect on me
"Z" CAVARiCCi pants where *80's "FULL-THROTTLE!"
I had them in EVERY color imaginable! Don't forget the IOU sweatshirts and Drakkar cologne for guys and Poison for girls 😉
@@shannon_w. Good Times!
Why was the boomer box weird
Is sunkist still around
10. nobody called stereo cassette recorder as Boombox. This is name from 2000s.....
I prefer to call them ghettoblasters. (Jan Griffiths).
Parachute pants
We need zippers! Zippers! More zippers! 😂
I have a pair of pants made of ripstop nylon like parachute pants that have long zippers on the outside of both legs. They are black, but unzip the zippers, and the blue lining can be seen. I got them in 1984 at Merry Go Round (a women's fashion store of the time). Still wear them too. (Jan Griffiths).
My ex-wife had this fascination with trying to put me in button fly jeans.
I would never wear them and would throw them away when no chance of getting caught.
I have been divorced for nearly 25 years now...
Why wouldn’t wear them? Zipper team?
I have 4 pairs of Levi's 501 button fly jeans, and the t-shirt that says button your fly. (Jan Griffiths).
I don't believe any of these items are weird.
Button fly jeans are cool, until you have to piss like a Russian racehorse. Then, they suck.
Nope we’re still not allowed to wear hats in class
