They don’t even have flat stomachs they actually wear a body shaper for the modelling pictures. Like no human being can be plus size and have a flat stomach when even slimmer people don’t. So those models can be a bit unrealistic too

Exactly I am plus sized and I have a stomach like how does that even happen my arms are sooo huge it is really disproportionate to the rest of my body and I have to deal with it and frankly speaking I am tired of starving and fad diets and running till I vomit only to look at food and regain it all. I am just sick of the two faced people in the plus size community and in the world at large.

Obesity is a choice and only makes those problems worse. If you suffer from that and chose to not lose weight, then yeah, people are going to have negative opinions about how you’re treating your body. Being slim just meant that she had one less problem for people to pick at.

@@Phazyne but what gives PEOPLE the right to have an opinion about someone’s body. My grandmother was considered obese most of her life but she was very active and ate tons of fruits and veggies and she lived a full life at 85 she had a heart attack and passed. 85 years of a great life is a wish a fitness expert hopes to achieve. Truth is our genetics play a huge role and the amount of stress and sleep we endure as well. So called obesity doesn’t kill everyone. Just like being skinny doesn’t mean healthy. Fat doesn’t mean unhealthy but hey!

I already feel left out when visiting websites like forever 21 or H&M now imagine going on a website like torrid who make clothes for plus size women and don't represent all body types. First: God doesn't give you a gunt, eating to much energy/calories and not burning them off does. Second: Companies spend a lot of money and time on research on what sells different products and you know what they found? Most People don't buy clothing according to if the model has their body type they buy it according to if the model looks the way they would like to look or be perceived. That's what sells clothes. That is why you will see someone with morbid obesity squeeze into skinny jeans even though they maybe completely unflattering on them. They have this image in their head that is not reality that they want to live. Clothing designers should make clothes for larger people, they make them for smaller people. The thing is how big do we go? Where does this end? How big can you make things before it becomes to expensive to be profitable. How big is to big? If a wall has to be removed to take someone out their house, is that to big? If chairs break under them is that to big? If they can't fit in car? If they can't clean themselves properly? Let's face it, looks are subjective what one person may find beautiful/handsome others may find disgusting to each their own. Let's critically think here about when is to much?

Ppl see these bodies everyday in their life and they pass them by and say or think nothing (majority of folks)... It's about time for plus size & companies that goes up to a size 24 to represent all body types in the plus size.. Stella pants was a No! Why? Because those pants were too tight and it made her apple stomach look like a butt (let's be honest, it was weird looking). She wears pants and jeans sometimes and they don't fit her like that (a couple has before and it looks like a butt). Her pants were just to small that day.. It's okay to go up a size or 2 for a better fit. All clothes are not made equally and no one will know your size but you.... I applaud Torrid, ppl always screaming diversity and when they give it, it's a problem. Stella didn't deserve what was done to her..

    • @nissahfleming8904
      @nissahfleming8904 Před 3 lety +14

YES! I love Stella.... I like what she stands for. However, my BODY TYPE is the same as hers. Mine was worse a year and a half ago. I've lost 117lbs because I didn't like the way I look. I am top heavy! I have a BIG stomach, little legs, no hips, but larger butt. So its HARD, HARD, HARD to find jeans that fit. Jeans can fit in the waist, but saggy in the stomach and legs. Then another pair fits in all the right places, but not in the waist. Stella wore the tight to fit her legs....because I do it too! BUT, I dont tuck my shirts nor wear crop tops. I wear a shirt that covers my belly so that it is camouflaged. She likes her body as is, but some of us just don't like it and I personally think its gross looking for me. I cringe when others wear it, even Stella, but that's her/them. They like it, I love it.
My mom told me one day in the clothing store, that she didn't like my pants. And I told her I didn't wear them for her to like and I loved them. My mom was my body shame. She thought if she said something that I wouldn't wear or do it. But that's how I lived my life at one time, the way she wanted me too. But I broke out of that mold and she got mad at me and started hating me for not doing as she says! Thats what America is doing to plus size women today. We are not doing what they want and they are voicing it. But as long as we keep doing it, despite what they say or think.....they will get tired and shut up!

@@nissahfleming8904 Your testimony you just gave is what body positivity is about and what it did and means for you... I have a fupa and I don't like to show it in pants but I don't mind in skirts or 👗 (I think because it's not as noticeable).I have a wide semi- hourglass body ( broad shoulders that I've finally accepted 7yrs ago). I'm glad you stood up for yourself even against your mom.... There are different shape bodies out here and that is the norm despite if ppl don't like it... No human body shape bothers me because that's what they were born with and who am I to think different. Now, if a person wants to change that for their liking, I'm for it too... That's right! Make noise on this because this is truly the norm.... 👏 👏

Her confidence scares a lot of people because they may want to be as free as her but are afraid of what society may say so they think “how dare she?!” I’ve lost almost 100 pounds but this gut is hanging on for dear life, although it’s much smaller than it used to be, I’m still uncomfortable wearing anything that shows my stomach, but that’s me. I would never hate on the next woman who’s moved beyond that point. People need to stop policing what someone else chooses to put on their body, PERIOD!!! Everyone can’t be a pear shape; It’s a part of life! There’s many body types. My stomach isn’t as large as Stella’s, but I’m an apple shaped girl as well. At 21, I’m just now learning to love myself enough to not be as self-conscious. I’m here for Stella wearing her jeans! 💯🤷🏾‍♀️

  • @shaylabeautifullyflawedmcl1007

I agree with you 100%. I'm one of those plus size women who don't have a stereotypical hourglass shape that every model on these plus size websites choose to model their clothing. I don't have much hips and my booty isn't the biggest so I literally had to take my own crash course of how those designs will translate on me. I had to learn what works me in spite of the fact that these models don't represent me and most the time isn't even considered to be plus size. Now if I'm not shopping on Asos I'm only shopping on websites that are big on reviews with pictures. So that I can see real people in the outfits and judge how it works for me. Big girls shouldn't be the butt of anyone's joke in 2020. All this real shit going on and people get discriminated and killed for who they are and choose to be. Our bellies and back fat ain't hurting nobody so hop the fuck off!!

People forget that the internet and the real world are 2 different things .. Everyone spends all their time looking at pictures with filters, edits , photo shop and have this false idea that everyone looks like that. Smh

Yes yes yes you spoke that right they need to have different models to show the clothes so people can know if they want to buy those items and how they were looking I'm glad you brought that up that's one thing I do see at Torrid a lot of the girls that work there a different size plus-size and they wear those clothes to show what it looks like in the store but as you were saying when it's online they cannot see the different sizes of women modeling those clothes they have a standard you are correct and hands up to you

I AM the "standard" plus size with a big butt and smallish waist, but even that is hard to find clothing that truly fits and makes me feel good. Seeing an item of clothing on a body that looks like mine helps a lot, and I am honestly the lucky one in that department. Representation matters.

Sorry, but if I have a fupa that shit is getting covered up. I'm not saying I'm wearing moo-moos, but I'm wearing something that compliments my body. Now, this makes sense that they're showing how the jeans fit. Doesn't mean whoever buys it will wear it like that. If a females choose to, more power to her. I, personally, wouldn't wear my Jeans out with a top tucked in.

We should have ro wearing moo moss we want a nice pair or jeans that feel good on us a top the show our good ness and some club like mesh and lace and colors cause we like to ho out and have a nice time too. Bump that Stella look like torrid ad. Or that torrid is wrong. Thats wat ppl look like so what. And making more money then all of us put together every some comments watch or replay. Its relatable to all.. and that's where the money is. Speaking of jeans I need me a pair

Agree with all of this! I’ve always had a bigger belly and hated it, it sucks people think extra weight I going to your butt is fine but when it’s your stomach, is you’re considered “unhealthy” like sis but if it went to my ass, that’d be fine??? It’s disgusting and even now, I catch people staring at my stomach when it’s poking out , I get annoyed sometimes but but fuck it, yesss my Fupa is out and a bitch is still fabulous 💅🏾💅🏾

If I could I would open a clothing store that had fashion drafted for a core of "models" of different sizes and ages. So I could have a Chrissy model and she would come in and talk to the designers who would make some items based on her body shape and needs. Chrissy would be asked what garments she was loving right then and the designer would make items for Chrissy based on this and would make items she thought were needed in store that fit Chrissy.
The store would then make up the Chrissy line with sizes couple either side of Chrissy.
This would happen for lots of models, short, tall and in-between, skinny as, large as and in-between. Apple shape, per shape, and all the rest.
You could come in store (bricks and mortar or online) and go straight to the model who is closest to you body type and know how it would fit you.
As you can see this is a full on dream as there would be dozens of models. So maybe this is not practical. But I would love to do it.
I am also waiting for the time I can go downtown, hop in a booth in my bra and undies and have a machine scan me and make me a 3D digital model of myself and I can go online and plug those measurements into a store and have all the garments I look at be shown on me with my measurements. Roll on the day.

If a woman is “plus size” or a big girl, stop expecting her to be an hour glass all the time. Everyone doesn’t have a small waistline and a fat ass. Everybody needs to wear clothes... ppl kill me

Hi Chrissy! 💕🤗I'm glad you are talking about this.... I'm a plus size Woman & my shape is hardly ever represented bcuz I have large breasts & a smaller back... very frustrating! & exspensive...My Primary Doctor tried to fat shame me! I have Spinal Stenosis & Lupus & I have had steroids injected into my spine thru an epidural more than once & I gained weight bcuz of it... the Rheumatologist's words not mine.... & my primary Dr. literally did not want to come close to me... she stood at the door to speak to me... needless to say she is no longer my Doctor bcuz I refuse to feel shame about my beautiful curvy body... I am currently loosing that weight... 14lbs already! I want to loose weight so that I can feel more healthy & be more active... not bcuz someone else feels insecure about themselves... working out is great for mental & physical health.... & yes I agree that we all deserve to be represented!
