      It was a TUESDAY night, NOT Friday. Chris Berman did the late games on Tuesdays. I remember because I watched this telecast live as well.

      If you look in the left field bleachers you can see my entire 10 year old baseball team in Philly colors.
      I remember the stadium emptying at the top of the 9th because the game was so one sided and all that was left were Philly fans. Best game I've ever been to!!!

    Luke Roman, that game was on Tuesday night, August 21st, 1990. 27 years ago today. I have it on videotape and I have since burned it onto DVD.

    I remember this game. I was heartbroken and MAD.....Jose Offerman is a total numbskull and so was that bullpen!

      I remember watching this also, crazy. But "mad" - I get it...flash forward 3 years to Phillies vs Toronto World Series Game 4 here at The old Vet in Philly. We had a 14-9 entering the 8th inning, 5 run lead...ok thats nice. But a lead was NEVER safe when Mitch Williams came in to relief pitch. And it wasn't - - We had 2 outs and he could NOT get that final damn out. Next thing I know, it's 15-14 Toronto. That was the final score. I wasn't mad, I had Hulk rage!! lol! I ended up kicking this cabinet door breaking the hinges, loud profanity which Im sure woke a few neighbors up in my apartment complex- (I had some anger issues back then haha) But that was a PAINFUL loss! Anyway, the next game...the epic Game 5 in Toronto - Mitch comes in ---again, gives up that unreal Joe Morgan walk off WS Winning HR. At that point, I had no rage...it was pure total numbness.

      @@ScrappleCheesesteaks well I feel for you bc haven't you forgotten about the 14-2 vs the indians comeback?? As a Mainers fan I will never forget watching that garbage live.. and it was 14-9 going into the 9th AND it was 2 outs just like your Phillies we blew it

      Jose Offerman was the reason why the Dodgers finished in last place in 1992 with his 42 errors, which most of those lead to a lot of unearned runs. I was so happy when the Dodgers got rid of him.

      @@oldiesmusic76 I feel like the current dodgers could of easily closed it out even the reds

    I will never forget this garbage as a Dodger fan! Jose Offerman sucked. He should have never even played for the Dodgers or baseball for that matter, one of the worst players in the history of the game, not to mention what he did in the Domincan Republic to that umpire. Terrible memory!

    • @WaltGekko
      @WaltGekko Před 5 lety +3

      Offerman booted what would have been a game-ending double-play ball.

  • @WaltGekko
    @WaltGekko Před 5 lety +1

    I would be using this game as part of an episode of a '90s continuation of "Mad Men," also using the Eagles 1977 classic "Hotel California" to close out the episode.
