Jamie Winterton, ASU College of Global Futures Fall 2023 Outstanding Graduate

Recent Arizona State University College of Global Futures PhD graduate, Jamie Winterton, was inspired to research cybersecurity after presenting expert testimony on the implications of large-scale data breaches for national security to the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Privacy, Technology and the Law in 2017.
This got her thinking about misaligned incentives in cybersecurity, and wondering how the U.S. could do a better job of protecting people and their sensitive data.
After graduation, Winterton will work as chief research officer at Boston Fusion, a small defense research and development company to help develop new artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches that can address complex defense and security challenges.
