@@jackmehoff1864 You should go rewatch it. Its one of my favourite parts of alltime but its probs not as great as you remember it to be with todays standard. He was a great kid skater.

I think he was pretty legendary at a young age, but because he was so successful and had a tv show people loved to hate him. I think the people who once hated on him respect him. I know I do. @@decayingcorpse-xv 30's is old in skateboarding. Try jumping off just a loading dock on a skateboard in your 30's; it sure don't feel like it did when you were 17. At 38, there's a lot of things I want to go for on my skateboard that I would think nothing of trying at 17, and it's a bummer because I can visualize myself doing it, but I know those things would take a lot of bails and probably some slams to land, and the likelihood of a serious injury is simply too high to risk for a lot of those things.
He's sure one gnarly feller. I remember seeing photos of him as a young grom in the magazines doing benihanas in helmets and pads, haha. They were BIG benihanas, though; it was obvious he was going places in professional skateboarding, but I'm super stoked to see the kind of skater he grew into. Just the gnarliest stuff; the name Sheckler is synonymous with gnarliness. And a real street skater; he doesn't skate just perfect spots, but stuff like this crusty-ass death spot.
I'm in my 30s that's when my disc problems started , lower discs which makes me think it from kickflipping and sticking. It could have been from doing lifting at work, probably both. Be careful landing off ledges, discs don't like it long term....
In the early to mid 90s, I thought stating had maxed out in its growth, and then I saw Sheckler at 11 years old just crushing it. I was about 15. I realized kids even younger would grow up looking at his stuff as normal or doable, and he still had a lot of time to progress, too. Skating will always evolve!

I just want to say. As a skater that has had 4 knee surgeries, (not all related to skating 3 hockey related) that “yesss” after the first bail hit me to my core. Once you get that surgery done and start hitting rehab, the injury spot feels so fragile and it’s so weak. That feeling you get when you realize you’re back to doing what you love is something you only feel a few times. Much love, this part will be burned in my brain forever.
I remember watching him when he first came around. Ryan will always be a staple in skateboarding.

If I could have even just one wish .. it be to skate with this Legend right here, Ryan Sheckler is one of the best skaters I've ever watched and also one of my top motivators in skateboarding and especially when it comes to big gaps and airs this guy is a killer for real though. I'd shred with this dude any day.. this footy makes me wanna skate so bad but skateboards are so expensive nowadays it's really hard keeping up.. I've been skating since I was like 6 but my life as a kid up until now isn't as much supportive as I'd like it to be. I know there's nothing not even a broken bone that should stop a dude from skateboarding but finance and non support definitely has a way of turning any person away from their dreams. But I'm positive as soon as I'm successful, I'm 28 end of August but definitely in a few years from now I'm gonna get me that Maloof cup or any cup for being one of the best pros in history!! That's just something I really want to achieve before I kick the bucket😢🎉🎉🙂
