Hello and Welcome. My name is Donna. I have my Craft Room set up in our unfinished basement. I am taking you on a tour of my space and sharing what works for me, what doesn't and the plans I have in mind for the space to make it into a better CZcams studio / Craft space to create in. I have used things I already had on hand, thrift store finds, garage sale items as well as things I purchased from Walmart or other staore! There's no Ikea close to me so I have to use what I can on a budget!!

I found you not too long ago but usually watch you on my husbands channel because his is connected to our TV. My craft room is like this too and I need to organize it really bad. Hi Donna. I store my cardstock in magazine holders BUT I lay them on their sides so that they are only 9" tall and 12" long. The paper doesn't bend that way and it's so easy to reach up and only take out 1 paper instead of having to lift the entire magazine holder down to get 1 paper.
That's such a great idea De Light! I have mine stored upright and can't stand having to take the whole thing out to get one piece of paper. Thanks so much!

Donna I'm so glad you are doing this video series. I am in the middle of cleaning my craft room too. I'll do a video soon. However, it's great to see what works and doesn't work for other people so I can either do, or avoid doing those things. Like you, I love vintage containers to store my stuff. You are fortunate to have so much natural light. My basement only has a small basement window close to the ceiling. I am blessed to have a space that used to be my daycare, so it's divided into 2 rooms. One of which used to be the very small kitchen & then a half bath. The kitchen will be my painting area, because of the sink for cleaning up. Just wish I could get motivated to get back to cleaning & organizing it. Glad to see I'm not the only one

My craft is a disaster as well. I don’t use IKEA products either. I’m trying to reorganize my craft room as well. It’s taking a toll on me doing it too. I have more stuff that room. 😫 I absolutely love your channel. This is why! You don’t try to push the Cricut machine down our throats for one. Here lately every video I watch now that’s what they’re doing now. So I’ve unsubscribed to their channel. Some of us can’t afford tools like that nor have the know how to use one. I have the basic tools like everybody else does. You keep everything down to earth and simple. I respect that and you. 👍🥰♥️💕❤️💖
Aw, you are so sweet and kind!!! 🤗 I try my best to mix it up here. I do occasionally use my Cricut Joy, but I do realize that not everyone has a machine like that, I was one of those crafters at one time😉 I appreciate the feed back! It helps me to know what my viewers like!
Ugh, my craft room has been turned upside down again, moving furniture around, purging, etc., not fun! But I know I will be happy I did it once it's done.

I wish I had a craft room! My crafts move around the house with me, jewelry on a card table, crochet on my bed with yarn all over the floor. The only thing organized is my painting stuff, my fabrics and stuff like that. I wish I had a craft room!
Aw, I went for years without a craft space. I finally made my own space in a corner of our unfinished basement, fabric for walls!! Hopefully one day you will have a space of your own, even if it's a little nook.

Ya, I'll be tackling the rest of our basement too , it's not easy!! I just go little by little. I heard someone suggest to set 30min a day to sort, purge and organize. Anymore than that and it gets overwhelming 😳 I'm going to try it out 🤷♀️ cause I'm bad for starting and not finishing 🥴

My craft room is always a mess. I keep going through stuff. I seem to reorganize my space at least once a month. You certainly have your work cut out. Can't wait to see your finished room. I am sure it will be fabulous!
A friend told me once, "it's not a mess, it's creative ideas laying around" 😄 I love it!! Made me feel better 😊 lol.
My space is a mess again since I have started moving things around 🙃, slow but steady.

Craft rooms are hard to keep organized. I have to go through mine every three months. Seasonal cleaning. It amazes me what I find. Can't wait to see what you do. Good luck!

Very nice. I take it you have a nice dry basement! That's great! I like your all of your various storage systems with so much natural wood. I spotted your little Pears tin. I've been trying to start replacing my tubs with clear tubs & clear shoe boxes. That is helping me find things when I need them. I have a bad habit of shoving things in tubs & not labeling, either. The clear ones are helping with that
Ya I think that's why my paint section works so well for me 🤷♀️
I personally don't like to see all my supplies, so that's why I use a mix of clear plastic and wood boxes and baskets. I just need to smarten up and label 🤪😆

I’ll be following along with your series. I don’t have a designated craft area, but I’m fairly new, so I don’t have as much supplies, but I deal with “craft corners “, all through the house, lol, which absolutely does not work. I love the idea of using what you have on hand and recycled shelves, desks, containers. I’m not looking for magazine worthy or spending a ton of money, I need functionality and organization!! 👍

I put 4 hanging rods in the small walk in closet. I hang all of my fabric (huge stash) on hangers. That has been a huge help. Plastic drawer units with clear drawers store extra fabric that is too small to hang. Good luck!!

@@creartivebynature you can buy the shelf brackets that go in closets. Screw them into the studs. They have a curved part to put the dowel hanging rod. Some of my smaller, coordinating fabric that I have for quilting, in gallon size zip lock bags. I use clothes pins to attach them to hangers. That rod is outside of the closet. Like I said, I have a huge stash of fabric

Hello! I too am set up in an unfinished area of the basement. I have one finished wall but my electric comes from the lightbulb fixture in the ceiling! I've been taking note these last few months on my most used items to make better sense of how to organize. Hope to follow along with you and enjoy your accomplishment!

Hi sweetie...great video...on ur cubes to streath on the u can us cardboard boxes to make them more sturdy...tfs ...I have a small selection to craft but hopefully I'll get it bigger

Love the use of the wooden boxes and natural wicker the most. All the plastic is really uninspiring. 😊
Ya, I love to go thrifting for wood boxes and baskets for storage. Not always that easy to find, but I love what I have found so far.
I mix it up with my storage, sometimes the plastic is more affordable and works better for what I need, but I definitely understand what you mean, baskets and wood are beautiful and natural 🤗

I want to wish you a happy New Year and thank You. Your videos have brought so much joy and inspiration in to my crafting, I’ve probably watched your Christmas ornaments videos a half dozen times. I’ve been working on a large set of ornaments for each of my kids. I loved the log cabin and my favorite as well. My crafting room needs a good cleaning and some reorganization too. Can you tell more about the fabric gile folder wall foe your flowers? It looks cool, and I definitely need ideas on how to store mine.
Ya, I got it from Walmart. I bought them a couple years ago now, but I'm sure there's something similar available. I'd check Amazon. It has 4 pockets. I secured it to my wall using thumb tacs. I have an unfinished basement, so my walls are bare. I really like it. I do need to switch things out seasonally or just keep everyday florals/greenery in there.but if you have the space, it makes a great storage for all your florals. Hope this helps.

I don't have a craft room so have to make do with what I have. I am looking for ideas for storage. I get overwhelmed with it all and don't know what to buy or how to organize it. If I can't see it, it doesn't exist, and buy more.

Rearranging stuff to organize is harder than what I face: unpacking and setting up a new room. I find myself moving unpacked items from room to room until I assemble shelves. I downsized into 1/2 the house. Ouch! Lots to give away.
Oh wow, that is a big downsize. All we can do is a little at a time.

I'd love to create but I don't have a channel or a stand to hold my phone...yet ...hehe
I didn't either, I used 1x4 lumber and books to start, oh and an elastic to hold my phone 😆 It was quite the sight, but it worked 🤪 Lol.
