    You all know (or should know) that I am a HUGE aviation nut. HUGE! I have a full VR Flight Simulator in my house, can communicate with ATC, and can fly some planes.
    So, when my client (who is a pilot) contacted me and asked about shooting with a plane.. I said, look no more.. you found your photographer :-)
    Seriously.. this was so much fun for me! Loved every second.
    Also, if you have not yet seen my photography workshops.. please visit my new page here: www.travisharr... for more information!
    Enjoy!

      Thanks so much for saying that! Really great to hear! I am glad you enjoy the videos, I know.. I wish I had more traction.. for some reason it's been a VERY uphill battle for me, on all social platforms. It seems the "chicky" all-o-natural togs seem to do best on IG LOL.. But, slow and steady wins the race. I think my biggest opportunity is just the lack of videos on a regular basis. THIS is very hard, as I am truly running a full time wedding business, and finding time to make videos is the hard part. I need to bring in some level of income from either my videos, or.. from workshops going forward. I need help. I need to be able to say to myself "okay, this week I am going to make this, and that" and know I will have some money waiting for doing it. No one talks about it, but this is true. Otherwise, this channel becomes a BIG distraction from other things (weddings) that actually pay the bills... its a tricky balance that I am slowly trying to overcome.

      Ahh I'm a little star-struck! Thanks for taking the time to reply, it is interesting to get an insight. Im no youtube expert,but I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot more followers on a channel of this quality. I wouldn't know how to help though. Looking through my subscriptions list, there's a lot of channels that just fade away, I guess it's pretty tough. either way, i'll always watch your videos and you'll always get a like from me. I hope this helps a llittle. Thanks again.

      LOL. True. Although, I think (THINK) I could have done all of this with the HS heads on the Quadra. But, lately I have had some weird errors with them.. so, brought the big gun along for the ride to plow through it all.

      Kevin Queen lol. Honestly, I did zero planning. I know the more I tried to plan the more it would work against me. Just have to trust yourself, see the situation and call the shots when there. We litterly had to wait on standby all day for the plane to come in. Could not even plan the time. But, it all worked out!

    why do people do private jet photo shoots?...is it to show off what they don't have?

    • @travisharrisphotography
      @travisharrisphotography  Před rokem +1

      haha, YES! 99% of all the inquires that I get from this video are exactly that (SO annoying too). However, in this video this is a real pilot and that was his plane. He now flys an Airbus A320 for Spirt :-)

      Everyone trys to contact me, and wants to do a shoot with a private Jet. Ever since this video came out, I have gotten at least one person every month who wants to shoot with a plane. I don't understand this, lol. The plane is not mine, I have no access to a plane. This shoot, was for a real pilot. It's his plane. I just took the photos. So, if people want to do shoots with planes, please understand that you need to bring your own plane to the shoot 😜👍

    Hello. Nice shoot. A bit over edited. Watching some of your old vidoes this edits are a bit over and the masks are visible. Love the personality and the tone of the video.

    • @travisharrisphotography
      @travisharrisphotography  Před 6 lety

      Thanks Mad Man! I appreciate the feedback! Not going to be defensive here, but I understand what your saying and appreciate your opinion. In print, they take on a different look and for some less would have been more totally agree. But, I really like they way they look on my screen here, and in print :-) When it comes to photography (and edits) you never going to make everyone happy. I basically just do what I want on my end, to my taste for a specific shoot and people are happy. Sure, to some will "see" things.. but, most people see it for what it is, and should be. Keep in mind, I have a paying client watching this and they are very happy so any comments that tread on the line of subjectivity are just a waste of time (this is for anyone too.. because it just wont matter in the end).

    • @MadManTnT
      @MadManTnT Před 6 lety +1

      Travis Harris Photography don’t get me wrong, i have tons to learn from you. I just remark based on some of your old work. For example the best photo, tehnical and pose is the last one. The light and here pose are perfect.

    • @travisharrisphotography
      @travisharrisphotography  Před 6 lety

      I hear what your saying, I do. But, what I am saying (and I love you, and your support don't get me wrong) is that what you see, and what others see are totally different. This is why it does not matter. It only matters if you, yourself were paying me and getting the results. Do you ever see an image on Instagram, and its TRULY horrible. Over exposed, bad crop, etc..etc..etc.. and yet.. 10,000 people LOVE it ;-) This is my point. It just does not matter what you (or we) think about others work. On my end, I sit here and they all look incredible and am proud. It fits in line with anything else that I have done, and will be on my site soon. Everyone will love it (that is apart of my brand and world) and I will book the next shoot because of it. If someone sees the shots, and thinks they are X, Y, or Z (whatever that is) and does not like it.. then, I would not be a good fit for them anyway. This is the take away when photography is more then a hobby. A lot of people who follow me, are not yet full time pros.. and sometimes don't understand the different mindset that goes along with that.. at this level, no one will care what another photographer actually thinks (this is not being rude.. this is just what it is), you have to realize that *most* people love it, including the client, and myself and this is all that matters in the world. Period.

      Travis Harris Photography i agree. Can i ask how much of the workshop is about posing?

    • @travisharrisphotography
      @travisharrisphotography  Před 6 lety

      Thanks MadMan. (trust me, I understand your points), and know your a good dude :-) Yes, for each of the setups that I did I have coverage on the posing, and at the beginning of the workshop I talk a lot about it. Def. will offer a solid frame work going forward, dare I say that alone is worth the $30. Basically, IMO there are so many little tips, and points all throughout the video that speak to posing, composition, and of course lighting that any one of them are well worth it!
