    He does say he isn't talking about increasing the difficulty, but he also admits that he doesn't even know what he means necessarily by make it more stressful. In the end, the only real way I can think of to make a game more stressful without just adding in a bunch of whatever the opposite of quality of life features are is to increase the difficulty in one way or another. Given that, I think him saying he isn't talking about difficulty is just damage control.

      In the end, we really are just over thinking one stray thought he had during an unscripted interview and many of us are just desperately grabbing at this as though it's some secret code for some change we desperately want, such as in my case some complexity brought to summoner and a few other jobs. In the end you are probably right and he has no idea what he meant by that stray statement... though im still gonna make some video essays on hopeful job changes while still leveling every job live.

      Tbf over time the difficulty has been going up, just very subtly. If you compare say, Tower of Zot to even just something like in Heavenward, it's much harder, the big thing is that they've also been teaching us the mechanics over time so by the time we reach that point the Skill floor for most people (so basically anyone who isn't a mentor, or at least has more than a 5th grader's cognitive ability) has actually raised enough to do that and even likely find it pretty easy or mildly difficult. Then you have stuff like the new hildi trial which is playing with some stuff straight of of savage with the 6 swings which itself is a step up from both E10s and Halone. More realistically we're probably not gonna see it made harder, more likely they'll make it less predictable, like how seat of sacrifice had randomized selection mechanic sequences, we may see more of that in normal stuff that makes it so we can't always assume a perfect pattern and need to pay attention more.

      @@rexex345 Well there are all kinds of difficulty, and even making things less predictable is increasing the difficulty.
