850 METERS is an animated comedy short produced by THURISTAR in coproduction with Lunanime. The short has aired on CANAL+ in France, Ketnet (VRT) and Ouftivi (RTBF) in Belgium. In 2016 its TV series spin-of "My knight and me" was released and aired world wide.
Synopsis : A not-so-brave knight is on a quest for Fame and Fortune - legend says rescuing a princess is the way to go. And in those same fairy tales, there's only one way to slay the dragon that hold the fair lady captive : find the invincible sword. To reach his goal, the knight is ready to go far. Maybe even as far as 850 meters...

Joeri Christiaen The animation is not only funny. It makes a ton of sense. The dragons being tremendously overpowered, compared to humans, what else should they do, if not have fun with those bysantine plots of theirs?

The jerky animation and hyperactive humor turned me off at first, but as a whole, this was really entertaining and clever. Absolutely loved the ending.

I'd scream too if I saw a tele tubby coming through the fog. "The escalator on your left, your other left." "coming soon to a castle near you." The closing theme, perfect. All in all, inspired lunacy. To all the naysayers, lighten up, just once allow yourself to have some fun, it's ok.

Amazing, I really liked the snippets where it showed what the knight was imagining in his head.
Thought it was pretty fun and interesting really liked the dragons with the accents at the end

Enjoyed every second. The slow mos, the visual jokes, the repetition (Fame and Fortune, yeah!) and highly exaggerated expressions. A character you can get behind despite his challenges and a great twist. Not surprised it was picked up for a series (which I haven’t seen). Strong storytelling :-)

Loved it. Wasnt the best rendering in some scenes, but story was hilarious. Loved the tree dragon at the end. Love the sense of humor, the camera angles and slow motion, and great characters.
I agree the rendering has gotten old now. Maybe one day I'll do a reboot :)

When I found this on CZcams, years ago, I had written it off way too fast. After the series 'My Knight and Me' appeared on Cartoon Network, I immediately recognized Henri of Orange as the knight from 850 meters, so I decided to finish this video. It was genuinely fun and enjoyable, and I feel like I missed out on an experience because of my own premature judgement. Well done, and I feel like such a fool.
