"Agree on the footwork" is the best agreement when dancing with an unfamiliar partner on the dance floor. The best takeaway from this video.
I have been watching your videos to unlearn and relearn what I knew about cha cha. I took a cha cha workshop years ago at a salsa school that dances on 1. The school also taught cha cha on 1 and after watching your videos and others, I was thinking that the school had taught wrongly. But I just analysed again and realized that the timings are rather similar. Your timings of 6 7 8n1 is equivalent to 1 2 cha-cha-cha, and 2 3 4n5 is equivalent to 5 6 cha-cha-cha. What is your views about on this matter and should I really switch to using Cha Cha on 6 and on 2?
There are many different ways to count cha cha.
123 4&5 67 8&1
123 cha cha cha 23 cha cha cha
123 4&1 23 4&1
Rock steps go on 23 and 67
You will find some line dances and couples line dance chas that rock forward on 1 but more people than not rock on 23 and 67.
