Light timbers like oak, pine and maple you won't need to use a wood bleach on as they are already light in tone and a paint wash can correct orange tones. Save wood bleaching for redder woods.

Not all timbers will respond the same and in fact there are some species that don’t respond well at all. One of those said to not respond well is Cherry.
