DIY Steel Sled - Sled Ride 60 km/h!

  • This holiday season, I wanted to go on a sled ride. Most available hay bale, or sled rides are slow, boring, and less accessible than I would like. So as such I decided to build a sled and haul it with my new upgrade ebike. I had a lot of fun with this project.
    The material I choose was steel with a stainless bottom. The total weight of the sled is 50 pounds. Relatively heavy, but that is a small price to pay for a sturdy comfortable ride. The former half of the video consists of me constructing the sled, and the latter half of me riding it. Feel free to skip the build process.

    Great video 👍, you should try to clean up the welds with a grinder or something to make it more visibly appealing. Well done though

      Thanks. Some of the welds were shamefully bad, I actually showed one of the worst ones.
      It hasn't fallen apart yet. So I guess it is structurally good enough. But yeah, not my proudest work weld wise.
