    I was there in January and must have had the most lucky choice of day I could possibly have got.
    Clear weather and the park was dead, there couldn't have been more than 50 people there. Aside for Dododonpa for most of the day, and Eej towards the end, everything was either walk on or a 1 train wait.
    Ended up with 19 rides overall (6 Eej, 4, Dodo, 4 Taka, 3 Fuji and 1 each on the other 2).

      @Ben Lowe I was there on the Friday, 10th of Jan. This is what the queues were lik, plus the view of Fuji I had:
      imgur.com/a/ysaqnlr
      Afaik, based on my research before going, as long as you go mid week during the winter months, it should be really quiet. Just pay attention to weather before "locking in" on a day to go.

    I had 2 days at Fuji-Q highland, 1 day Mt fuji completely visible the entire day, other day partially. Since one of the days was in the Golden week of japan the park was opened until 10 pm, it was already completely dead that day so i was able to get a bunch of nightrides on Eejanaika, had about 11 rides that day alone with many night rides (Single rider was closed bc it was so dead, so i was able to get in line inmediately anyway. The other day it was quite a bit busier but single rider was opened so bc of that i was able to marathon fujiyama (there was no one in single rider and was able to get on instantly) just fell in love with that ride. I loved this park and had a great experience.

  • @TonyKimtheamusementparkfan

    I love that train of Moonsault Scramble that operated from 1983-2000. That ride was technically the first roller coaster to go over 200 feet before Magnum in 1989 lol, and pulled 6.5 positive G's during the ride, which is insane. That could still be the best Meisho coaster if it was still in operation.

    I am planning a Japan trip in October, near the end of the typhoon season, hopefully plans aren't ruined by weather. I am looking at visiting Fuji-Q on a weekday and avoiding holidays so I think I could get away with just one day at Fuji-Q as a single rider and making the trip to Nagoya to stay on-site for one day at Nagashima Spa Land. My itinerary may get too crammed trying to do two days at both parks but at minimum I just want to ride the big coasters and repeat rides + anything else past that would be a bonus. This video is 4 years old and I did check to see that both Fuji-Q and Nagashima have short operating hours - 9:30am to 5pm. Much shorter than what I'm used to in the US but I can make it work.

  • @TheRealityofFake
    @TheRealityofFake Před 2 lety +4

    I went during golden week in 2016. Probably the worst time to go there. It was super busy and we only had one day. We were only able to do two coasters. But Mt. Fuji was visible the whole time, and getting to see it as we went up the lift on Eejanaika was amazing

    Because of my schedule I was only able to go there on a Saturday. Next time I am definitely going to make sure I go there on a weekday and hope for smaller crowds. I could add that taking a bus from Shinjuku Bus Terminal in Tokyo was quite cheap. On the way back the highway was quite crowded so it took a while. I still found it convenient since I didn't ride many trains on that Japan trip. The yakisoba I had for lunch was also nice.

    Pretty Accurate Review of Fuji-Q! Really wish I had another day at this park when I went last October, because these line get packed, especially on a weekend. What kinda annoyed me was that Takabisha and Do-Dodonpa's fast pass lines didn't act as single rider lines like the other two coasters and the main queue, so those lines were insane for those. One thing you didn't mention, likely because it wasn't there when you were there, was that they had a pretty cool Naurto area with a ramen shop, midway games, and a fun dark shooter ride which felt like a lower budget version of Toy Story Mania at disney.

    The loading system with a waiting area for Eejanaika sounds a lot like the one on Flying Turns at Knoebels, though that's on a smaller scale. In the case of Flying Turns it's because they weight you before boarding though, so I'm not sure what the reasoning is here. I'd love to visit this park one day.

    I have a question.
    I am wondering. What parks would you suggest to go to in Japan.
    I am going there in the summer (whilst there are Paralympic games going on).
    I am thinking there will be less of a crowd as the games attract a lot of people.
    The 4 parks I am considering are:
    - universal studios japan.
    - Disney japan.
    japan.
    -Fuji q
    -nagashima spa land.
    Please let me know your opinion! Thank you very much!
    Ps: I am 100% visiting universal.
    So I would love to know what your ranking is of these parks.

    Went there a few days back - main reason was to take my 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son to the Thomas land kids part that my daughter wanted to visit while her grandparents were over from the UK. We were all seriously unimpressed by this place - we hoped that we'd be able to get the kids on a few Thomas land rides with their grandparents and maybe if there was a bit of time, me and my wife get on a rollercoaster or two. Turns out that the Thomas land area in particular was hugely understaffed - most of the rides had only one staff member in charge of the whole operation including checking people's tickets and annoying facial recognition thing, getting everyone onto the ride, many of whom were little kids that needed help with seatbelts and so on, operating the ride, and then helping everyone off the ride and clearing the area for the next ride. Even though there were not many people there on a quiet Sunday in February, with few people in queues, we still ended up waiting 30 or 40 minutes for each ride - that's not the adult rides, just silly little kids rides for 3 year olds - the kids were bored out of their minds half the time. Most of the rides require adults to ride with their kids to supervise them - often one adult per each child - each adult has to pay the full price, so 2000 yen for two adults to take two small children on one silly little merry-go-round or toy train or whatever. Cafeteria was also expensive and understaffed taking ages for the food to come despite being only around 20% full. It all left very little time for my wife and I to check out the main Fuji Q area - when we did we found that about 1/3rd of the attractions were closed for no clear reason (under inspection or closed for the day etc. - beautiful clear, dry and windless day BTW, probably around 3 pm time with park closing at 6) and the rest had massive queues - two hour waits for most of the big coasters. On top of that, having decided it wasn't going to be worth getting the free pass for me and my wife, we found that all of the rides worth going on cost 2000 yen to ride. The only thing we ended up going on was the big Ferris wheel - 800 yen. Just epitomizing the whole penny-pinching feel of this place, it turns out that you can take your dog on some of the rides - they will charge your dog (or should I say, you) the full adult fee for the privilege. By the end of the day I couldn't wait to leave and get to our hotel. It just feels tired, run down and uncared for - like somewhere that is close to financial ruin and is just trying to eek out the last bits of cash from people it can before it finally goes under. We'd gone to Tokyo Disneyland a few days earlier and the contrast couldn't have been more extreme - that place might not have any big coasters or truly scary rides, but they certainly know how to provide a fun, slickly-run, atmospheric and interesting experience for the whole family. Go there every time with kids, or even without.

      We did ride Fujiyama. The cloud coverage was too thick, it completely covered the Mountain.

    Do you need to be able to speak Japanese or could I get by with just English?

      You can absolutely get by with just English. I don't speak Japanese at all, and was just fine. I recommend the google translate app if you're worried about it- that was a great tool for us.

    Just listing my thoughts. Fun park. No real reason to be there more than one day. I was content to leave after about half a day. Eejanika is a top 5 coaster. I took a bus from Tokyo because if you are going from Tokyo there really isn’t a good train route straight to the park.

    • @CoasterStudios
      @CoasterStudios  Před 4 lety +1

      I think a lot of it has to do with crowds and operations. If you go on a really light day, I could see you not wanting 2 days there. I personally think there is enough to do here that warrants more than half a day, but thats just my opinion.

      Coaster Studios I absolutely agree. I only had one day there regardless and it was very light crowd-wise. It was my last day in Japan and it’s obviously a huge bucket list park so I had to do what I could and I was content with the rides I got. I was really only there for the coasters anyway.
