2 things. First of all, I really appreciate an ultrawide video that properly fits my screen. Secondly, 1:45 you are correct, the JAS 39 A used the PS-05A MK 1 and MK 2 radar, much better in every single way to the PS-47 radar. The RWR is also better but I forgot the name for it.

THIS IS WAR THUNDER PEOPLE! Irl the gripen beats the f15, su27, etc… and barely beats the f16c, but loses to the f16a. EVERY PLANE IN WAR THUNDER IS OVER TUNED TO MEET THE ARCADE G LIMITS. That means extra thrust, extra lift, and usually lower drag as certain speeds. IT IS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN THIS WAY. And the gripen on war thunder fits in the performance “group” EXACTLY where it should. Why is this the first plane ever added to the game that everyone decided NEEDS to be exactly accurate to real life??? It fits EXACTLY where it should compared to the other planes in this ARCADE vehicle combat game. If anything it’s underperforming due to the bugs with the “landing canard air brake” thing. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THIS IS NOT DCS PEOPLE!
There was a lot of US and USSR mains bashing the Gripen when it was first confirmed, and a lot of CZcamsrs talking about the plane would undersell it to avoid overhyping it. So when is Swedish players finally get a good top tier jet that can compete with the bigger nations, those players start to complain
@@NF27914 based on what? the whole point of canards and slats is to pull high Gs while bleeding VERY little energy. If we're talking very very slight adjustments, then maybe... but most people are calling for a very hard nerf based on "delta wing fly bad"
When the Gripen first versed the f16 in dissimilar training it won every round so I'm not surprised the 16 loses here either but they could still dial it back a bit
Imagine if they gimp the Gripen then release the Rafale and Eurofighter a few months later. Would be funny to see the most maneuverable of the three be nerfed into irrelevance while the other two get off scott free.
almost non of the cockpit huds are that great, they are all just the regular radar and rwr gui on a part in the cockpit. If they got some people to design and program the radar gui for these top tier jets, it would be very helpful for data link and modern screens that have a lot more info than the distance and angle. In the trailer, they did hint at new radar gui though, so I am really hoping that is added in the second dev server.
great vid, ur the only person ive seen doing sim stuff with the new jets. One thing to point out tho, the f16 would slam the gripen in a rate fight. Its just that the person ur flying with was nowhere near rate speed and was just full pulling around the circle. if he kept his speed where it needs to be he wouldve come around the circle on you 100%
Superb Video, will be looking forward to flying this and the SU-27, I wasn't particularly blown away by the F-15A Us cockpit, but the SU-27s FM and Loadout has that redeeming factor, but hell yes I am going to be enjoying the Gripen
The Gripen was powered by GEF-404 engine, the same engine that powers the legacy F/A-18 and F-20 Tigershark(1.27 Thrust to weight ratio with afterburner!). Also, the GEF-404 was originally intended to power the Indigenous Defense Fighter, a twin engined domestically Chinese/Taiwanese F-16 derivative with Northrop F-5 lineage. But due to US export restrictions the IDF was reengined with Honeywell F-125, the airframe size was slightly reduced and the two vertical stabilizers canted at 45° was changed to single stabilizer.
The reason the Gripen won the rate fight against the F-16 was due to the F-16 going way to slow and almost stalling out and the Gripen has a much lower stall speed.
from what i read from a swedish pilot on facebook on the jas-39, in a mock dog fight between the f-16 and gripen, the gripen is capable of fighting the 16 but in a sense, you are clawing your way to do so
Reason why F16 lost first fight is because it was basically at stalling speeds, F16 just like DCS (of which it's a monster in) likes to 2 cricle at 400-300 knots or 300-450 MPH
@@brunobarata6884 you watch too much growling sidewinder, in DCS the F-18 beats the F-16 in a rate fight. I have yet to lose to an f-16 in a rate fight in all my hours of dogfighting. Watch Reloaded Gaming for a better idea of how the F-16 under performs
Unfortunately I'm not a big enough channel to get them for free in the Dev server, the gripen is the only one I had time to unlock. When they come to the live server, I'll make videos on them once I have them.
F16 lost rate fight because he wasn't on his rate speeds of 350-400 kts, was pulling way to hard, could tell from the vortices his wingtips were producing
The viggen got a flight performance buff, more in this video: czcams.com/video/wY07_NJSCU8/video.html

First plane? hey man i playing since early close beta. And always people want the plane to be the Close to real life. Even if its an Arcadish game.
I don't think people want it to be nerfed it's just that the gripen should be pulling more aoa but not keeping its speed and energy as well.

Actually it uses the Volvo rm12 which is an upgraded version with more thrust
Gripen A and C use the Volvo RM12 with a TWR below 1. The E variant got an engine upgrade getting the TWR higher than 1.

Its radar is suppose to be pretty insane aswell but the one it has is not correct.
at least the radar doesnt matter for this gripen, but it will definitely matter for the c gripen!
what sort of setup do you have (joystick, vr, ect...)
T16000M fcs and an HP Reverb G2

yeah, the F-16 in capable hands will win against a lot of jets due to how well it rate fights

Is war Thunder Sim Worth getting into These says?
Best game mode IMO at any tier for planes.
gonna have to agree with cjay, it's the most enjoyable way to play planes right now.
I think atm they've ported the JA37 radar and rwr so they're not correctly modelled but don't quote me on that
Edit:nvm you mentioned it
it doesnt use the viggen rwr, that one only has 4 sections while the gripen one has like 6 I think
The radar is a copy paste placeholder from the AJS and it should get the better PS-05A radar on release.
Thanks, but the movements are so nervous.
One of the caveats of making videos in VR unfortunately... Most of my sim content is a lot easier to watch, I just wanted to get this one out soon.
Did i just find a sim youtuber?
indeed
Do flanker
Neither the Su-27 or F-15s (apart from the A) have cockpits right now unfortunately.
Well I think the flight model will be nerfed
Do it then. If it beats the f4c, I will uninstall

Sure, it's not the most realistic sim like dcs or bms, but it's alright, and the game mode is called Simulator Battles.
Thats not the best example of an F-16 pilot lmao, the way he is just pulling the nose always caching energy its just bad.
