- From a U.S. PBS broadcast, a documentary celebrating 25 years of The Rolling Stones. This video begins at Keith's and Mick's childhood and quickly moves to the time they meet and become reacquainted at rail station. Keith and Brian have a solid friendship those first few years and play off each other well, in the band and outside as well. Video the early years until they connect with Allen Klein to be their manager.
On investigation this video is not available on an official DVD release though a remaster from various sources may be found.
Part 2 of this documentary is available at:

Amazing. I remember seeing this 1989. My dad could not compute that the Stones were harmless, sort of!!!! Seen the 3 times and front row. 'Angry' best song for years. Sidney Sweeney jeez. So beautiful. Stones in UK next year.
I learned from this Documentary that so many UK artists first meet as kids in school. They didn't have to deal with firing, at least in the early days in their career. They all wanted it so badly they could taste it. You Better Move On, was an old school blues song. So many folks made thier bones at The Marquee, even in the clip with The Moody Blues Videos like "I Know You're Out There Somewhere". Andrew was very smart promoting them but the smartest thing he told them is to do your own music, you can't keep doing cover versions. I've also noticed that alot of UK Artists to this day cover American Songs.
Have it on VHS and DVD too and if they do a Blu ray version that would be just the icing on the 🍰☘️
I had it on VHS too! I was really into them! I was also into blues rock and 60's music.
I love Charlie's comment on how much they make in a year.
I still have this on VHS.
Best doc!
Thanks.
You're most welcome!
I had this on VHS, watched it 100 times. They should've stopped after Steel Wheels. Or Voodoo Lounge at a push.
12:05 & 25:05 this is why we love Charlie.
they should have stopped when Taylor left.
ya gotta be kidding me, theyve been the best live act of the last 30 years, lol
@@mikeodonnell6799 thats ridiculous
brian knocking on the door while they smile on
Where is that?
Where is the rest
CZcams in their finite wisdom, and more to the point a copyright claim was placed on Part II with a request to block the video. It's not clear if it's a mgmt clearinghouse who made the claim on behalf of the group, or the group themselves. I may try another platform.
Mick may not have realized that these "Teen Idols" were created to be the antithesis of Elvis. More style than substance but were less threatening. Also America was very clean cut and yes conserative. women were housewives, men worked unlike england where the women worked just as hard. Also when Bob Marcucci created Frankie Avalon, Fabian, & bobby rydell, he was very pesty especially with Dick Clark. Also where Brits were always open about how Black Culture and music influenced them, America wasn't at that time.
What happened to the scene where they are dressing up as girls (while stupid girl is being played). Always love that part!
This video (part 2) was recorded from the PBS presentation of the documentary. There are a certain short sections not included as part of the original unfortunately. At some point I'll take time to upload the original.
Awesome thank you! (Thats one of my favorite parts lol)
I have the full documentary in VHS
9:47, Keith playing a classic Les Paul. I bet it is a 1959.
