I once fell asleep playing a late night flight in FS2020. Woke up with the nose approaching the ground. It took a moment to go from taint pucker to lol, but it was a wild ride. Didn't crash!

When I first started playing VTOL VR, I was flying with a wingman over these ships that we were targeting. I didnt know they had missiles.. I saw it launch one, and it looked like it was heading for my wingman. I just kept cruising, and ignored it. Suddenly, that missile comes into frame and flies right into my face. Jumpscared the fuck out of me. I almost gave myself whiplash, and it slung my headset off my head
wooowww. i play war thunder for 9 years now with many, many hours, days worth of playing but this is a whole new experience. Thats litteraly it. Im going to buy a headset. This video tipped me over.

Warthunder jets = getting striked from across the map and paying half of your silver lions to repair lmao

pls take note of the panel above the HUD; that panel is a removable panel used for nuclear weapons.
Note: there is a similar panel to control+arm the gun pods that can be fitted to the inner pylons.
In DCS there's another panel that looks like that for ECM. Jamming and I believe chaff/flares. I wanna say it's customizable for different patters, and may even have an auto feature, but I've only used it a few times around 4 or 5 months ago
War thunder looks way better than how I remember it.
Bogey is an unknown contact. Bandit is a confirmed hostile that hasn't shot at you or friendlies yet.

You can go into options>graphics and turn streamer mode on to get rid of the things on the corners of the screen when recording.

are you able to use the vr controllers to move the hands or do you have to use keyboard and mouse?
Do you mean controlling stick and throttle with controllers? I don't think it makes much sense TBH. So I just use joysticks.
You cannot use the controllers sadly. You have to use game pads, keyboard and mouse, or a flight stick. Vtol vr, however, you can use the controllers to move your hands and arms.

Hi, how did you manage to record it, is it a one-eye recording? Looks very good!
Via some default NVIDIA overlay, nothing special. It can record whatever the game window displays, and I set it to duplicate the right eye picture.

I have just bought a thrustmaster hotas warthog as my first flight stick does anyone know if it work well in war thunder or are there better options I could go for later
Dunno why it would not work well for WT. From any joystick in any sim-alike game you need axes and buttons. Thrustmaster Warthog definitely has enough buttons, I'm only not sure about an axis for yaw control. I've heard some models lack trick twist, so you may need to add pedals to that.
Apart from joystick I'd definitely recommend at least something for head tracking. Today there should be pretty cheap options available.

For VR, two images are rendered for each eye. This is recording of a window which was showing the left eye image (there is a setting to choose which image to display). That's why the camera is leaning.
how did war thunder work for you in VR? for me it was a litteraly big screen not even 3D i was in VR but in a screen.
you have to launch it in VR mode. there should be a pop up, just toggle the vr mode

hi! how do i use war thunder with the Reverb G2 outside of steam VR? it either doesnt launch or doesnt give a signal to the headset
Not sure I can give any valuable hint here, but my WT goes through Windows Mixed Reality, and indeed doesn't use the Steam VR.
However some time ago I was able to also disable Steam VR for DCS by forcing it to use OpenXR instead. Don't remember the details, but maybe OpenXR can help.
@@skliff13 Welp, I'm not launching the game through steam. WT should automatically use OpenXR/WMR, but for some reason WMR just does not do anything if I switch into VR mode in WT. It just stays in the standard home environment
i tried playing WT vr in my quest 2 but the hud display is always so blurry and unusable, i just assume thats how the game is made.. am i missing anything here
Not sure why HUD may be blurry, but you may check pixels density or other settings.
You need to buy the direct to PC USB cable. It also has to be a good one designed for the quest, not a crappy one. The way you're doing it, you need to sit directly next to the wifi router, even then, it'll be blurry because you're essentiially remote streaming into the PC via your wifi. It's not enough bandwidth for the full bitrate your computer is capable of. Get the USB cable for direct PC connection. Also, if your motherboard has a dedicated USB C VR port, that's the one to use.

@@Moxie_278 This is why I don't play this game any more. If I play, I lose mones because of War Thunders "rEaLiSTiC" money loss method (repair cost). Terrible map design, I have to drove for 5 minutes every round to get to enemies who instantly kill me... Same in Air RB. Cant try anything new because all the vehicles are so grindy. Yeah no way im getting back to this

Hard to tell You mean the entire image is blurry or the textures in the cockpit are blurry? The latter may depend on the textures quality setting, on the game client downloaded (min/full/ultra HQ) or even the aircraft itself: some old planes in the game (e.g. Spitfires) have just very old and shitty cockpits compared to the planes added recently.
maybe try turning down sense of flight so the cockpit wont jiggle so much
sense of flight is different. I think its called "camera shake in vr". So much easier to fly like that.

i would like to play in vr, but i can't find myself a cheap visor and a joystick. can anyone help me? (i'm on budget, like 40/50 euros)
VR helms are all not cheap, and also need a somewhat powerful PC.
Cheap joysticks which could suffice for WT: Logitech 3D pro, Thrustmaster T16000 (not sure if still manufactured).
For cheap head tracking - there are very different solutions, some need special webcam + IR lights, some need a usual webcam + some free software (e.g. OpenTrack).
Find "zerotoheroalek" channel on twitch, the guy seems to use a cheap setup for head tracking.
I tried to make a budget flight sim set up, if you want cheap head tracking you can get an air mouse and strap in to your head set or use a 15$ I phone app call smooth track. Also I bought a mobile phone vr headset on Amazon for 30$ and then used Trinus to stream from my pc to mobile however you definitely get what you pay for in terms of headset quality

I play DCS too from time to time, depending on the mood.
dcs is cool, but it's boring, it's boring to learn and if you're not a recurring player you forget everything

Ante todo buen día, no se cómo explicar esto, pero trataré. El juego en si muy bueno, muy realista en muchas cosas, pero es en si una mierda. Aquí no hay diferencia con otros juegos como word of thank; bueno creo que allá son mejores porque por lo menos allí usan algo más de tácticas de combate algo que es importante en cualquier partida, aquí cada uno a su rollo, es mas no saben leer!, todos juegas combates aéreos (arcade) como si que fuesen dog fight y no ven ni el marcador a la izquierda abajo, por supuesto es una pérdida de tiempo, en los tanques peor, Aller estuve en una partida ganada A,B Y C tomadas pero como si que el juego era destruir todos los tanques enemigos ( que no era) siguieron y perdieron la partida, es común esto; por otro lado parecen idiotas todos a el punto A y luego todos al B y después al C nadie se quedó a defender ninguna de las otras bases, cosa que en word of thank si comprenden. Es más a los programadores de este juego allá en word of thank hay partidas donde si tienes que matar a todos los tanques y es muy interesante. Se ponen en columnas con todos los tanques, que torpeza, cuando tienen que ponerse es en fila así son más eficientes. Lo peor tengo 35 años usando fly simulator, busque un clan para ver si así era mejor y me contestaron "Olvida todo lo que sabes". Yo volé en simuladores reales de instrucción de Boeing 737 800 y se noto mi experiencia en el control del avión. No es recomiendo este juego, no es lo que promete y no por el programa sino por la gente que lo usa, perecen niños.
