I seen the other video where the reman engine let go, talk about a kick in the nuts. You're a hell of a Mechanic Warren, amazing what work they let out the door.
They must not have quality control at the rebuild shop, just crazy how fast this thing went down. Whoever assembled this nightmare is probably doing the shoe leather express. They need to pay for the engine swap, and the time and resources it took to get this thing back to the shop. The test drive was absolutely part of the install process, what a headache to go through, the wife seems so sweet and helpful. God bless you folks, I appreciate honest hard working people, hard to find on youtube. The best channel's I find are in the comment section of other good youtubers.
Tell you what, this is what separates the boys from the men. You kept a cool head about it and just did what needed to be done. Good old boy and Navy in you will get things done. I think I can safely say were all with you on this one Warren, your a good sort, kind and caring, so when your out there about as pissed as you can get we support you.
Warren, years ago I didn't have time to rebuild the engine in my car and purchased one from Jasper engines. It went exactly 500 miles and flooded the cooling into the oil and caused a missfire before I was able to shut it off. I called the Jasper rep and he said it was probably a bad head gasket and "suggested" that he would pay my labor if I replaced it myself. I told him no deal because I had a 3yr 36 month warranty and I wanted it replaced. They did send me a replacement and paid my labor for the installation but what they sent me wasn't the same engine I originally bought, which was a performance engine. They sent me a truck engine that wasn't anything like my original purchase, I found this out later. I also found out that the original engine had a crack in the cylinder wall which is why it lost the coolant the way it did. I haven't purchased any other engines from rebuilders since and I've never been happier. I don't trust them at all since then and probably never will.
I cannot believe how outwardly calm you are, you were very "refrained" Warren. But inside I would guess your gutted, disappointed, angry all at once. I would love to be a fly on the wall listening when you ring JD... will be interesting to see what they come up with or whether they try and shift the blame and responsibility elsewhere.... JD certainly seem to have gone downhill especially in the past couple of years..... Keep safe and well Warren and family.

I wonder if towing it again , really short chains and tyres as buffers on the grader's rear, would be easier and quicker than the amount of shunting you'll have to do to get it on a low boy.

On the old tractors we used to use jumper hoses from scv of good tractor to dead tractor to power up the hydraulics then towed with a push bad hooked drawbar to drawbar. Worked well. Don't know if you fed thru power beyond and load sense if you could make that work on that beast or not.
That wheel line irrigation brought back great and horrible memories. Your customers are very lucky to have a guy as dedicated as Warren is to keeping their machines running in the field. I sure do enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work.

Nice work . Those older johndeere 9400t and 9500t could be problematic. We had a couple over the years and they really didn't hold up well . We now run case quadtracs they have a better powertrain. We have a 2014 580 a 2010 535 and a 2020 500 rowtrac setup for planting and sidressing corn . We need the large tractors because we farm 8000 acres I'd keep that grader it was very handy to have and it sounds great . Keep up the good work and stay safe!
When you said you needed to pull the cotter pin out of that chain but your service truck was back at the shop is the exact reason I carry a Leatherman multi tool because they are a lifesaver when you’re in a pinch

Wonderful to see and hear your wife’s voice and comments; “the rolling turd” is classic. Don’t get to see many couples move a JD “pos reman” off the road with a road grader these days. Absolutely a cameo appearance by her. Look forward to the sequel, “Rolling Turd Two”.
I hope we get filled in on the details as to what happened with that engine and what Deere is going to do to make this right. I'm especially interested to know if Warren and the owner will be able to recover some of the labor cost of installing that dud engine in addition to the labor that will be required to remove it and install a good engine.
This particular tractor should just go straight to a salvage yard. Warren, you do top notch work period. We keep a Leatherman in all our vehicles and a few small tools. Keep the chain short, leave about 3-4 ft between the grader and the POS. The front end will be forced to follow the rear of the grader. Not many wives would help out with something like this, you got a good wife. Off the road, now back to the shop now, are you going to rebuild the engine or is John Deere? JD should but, I think the owner might want this done correctly so, I'm thinking you'll have to rebuild it. Amazing of what a professional can do with an engine. Right now, I really feel for the owner. This is just ridiculous, JD should own up to this and fix it correctly at their own cost. Great video as always, cheers :)

I hope we get filled in on the details as to what happened with that engine and what Deere is going to do to make this right. I'm especially interested to know if Warren and the owner will be able to recover some of the labor cost of installing that dud engine in addition to the labor that will be required to remove it and install a good engine.

Warren, you do top notch work period. We keep a Leatherman in all our vehicles and a few small tools.
Keep the chain short, leave about 3-4 ft between the grader and the POS. The front end will be forced to follow the rear of the grader.
Not many wives would help out with something like this, you got a good wife.
Off the road, now back to the shop now, are you going to rebuild the engine or is John Deere? JD should but, I think the owner might want this done correctly so, I'm thinking you'll have to rebuild it. Amazing of what a professional can do with an engine. Right now, I really feel for the owner. This is just ridiculous, JD should own up to this and fix it correctly at their own cost. Great video as always, cheers :)

Nothing like having to fix someone else's mistakes I work on big cranes and heavy equipment also and that is not a fun day I can always sympathize with you problem I thought all works out to the best for you enjoy watching your stuff thanks
