CPTSD can have a profound impact on a person's emotional and psychological well-being, leading to symptoms such as difficulty regulating emotions, negative self-perception, difficulties in relationships, and feelings of helplessness.
Trauma Dumping
"Trauma dumping" refers to the act of sharing detailed accounts of one's traumatic experiences with others, often unexpectedly and without their consent. This can sometimes overwhelm or distress the listener, as they may not be prepared to handle such intense information. Trauma dumping differs from seeking support, which typically involves a mutual understanding and consent to discuss sensitive topics.
