    We show a full how to video on changing the drive belts on a 30" Craftsman R1000 rear engine riding mower.
    These are similar to many of the other Troy bilt and Cub Cudet rear engine riding mower process.
    We go over the full steps on how to get your mower back moving if the drive belt brakes.
    The spring installation is also shown here along with how to get to the area to repair everything.
    We give a full diagnostic and repair of the issue with tips and Information.
    Upper drive belt part number 954-05040 can be purchased at amzn.to/3Xh3SRz
    Lower drive belt part number 954-04331 can be purchased at amzn.to/3x5hGnH
    I would purchase OEM elsewhere because these ones seems to be pricey

      @@IndRepair Thank you so much for the reply. I believe it's the 4p90jua 420cc, can verify later this afternoon. The parts diagrams/photos I am finding do not show the plate and where the linkage arms connect, spring, and cable on the plate. Can send pics/vid if needed. I desperately need your help with my Kohler KT740-3032 on my Gravely ZTX-52 I recently purchased. I purchased it knowing it needed work and decided to take on the project myself despite never working on an engine before.
    I’ve cleaned the carb, replaced the gaskets, replaced the smart choke thermostat, replaced the fuel filter and pump. I was able to do so all thanks to you and your videos. However, it still barely wants to turn over without carb cleaner for an extra boost.
    When it does run it immediately cuts out when under any sort of load. Even disengaging the parking brake cuts the engine out. I know for a fact it has two blown head gaskets but other than that I do not know why it won’t consistently turn over and stay running under load.

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I would get those head gaskets replaced and go from there. Depending on how bad they are blown this could be the majority of the issue (sounds like you have something electrical going on too but one thing at a time)

  • @toolshed47
    @toolshed47 Před 8 měsíci +1

    After the deck belt came off at 5:00 minutes, why was there a need to drop that deck pully to replace the lower drive belt? Is it just easier to put the belt on or will it not fit around the pully while it is bolted in?

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  Před 8 měsíci +2

      I believe there is a piece of the frame that protrudes down and sits over the pulley so the belt doesn't jump off. The belt must be in the pulley groove to slip up into position. This is the way most of them are made. On this one I honestly cannot remember if that is the case or if they are just easier to change that way. I started doing it this way a long time ago and have ever since. Thanks for watching!

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  Před 8 měsíci

      I would make sure to use OEM belts for this setup since the variable drive system is very picky about the belt used and the aftermarket do not ever seem to work well. For 247.203690 (13B226JD299) - Craftsman R1000 the belt part numbers for the drive are 954-05040 & 954-04331

      The hydro version has a decent transmission in it. These direct drive transmissions are decent, it is the double pulley actuator system that makes them fall flat
