Boone "how did you know?" Courier "bill of sale..." For some reason that line hits like a train and marks a beginning of a brilliant story of grief regret and vengeance.
I really didn't see it coming. This totally harmless looking woman, who even gave me a free room after helping the folks at Novac, turning out to be the one who sold a soon to be mother to the worst scum of the Mojave...
I’ve been running around in the similar armour you get from The Divide recently. And you actually can wear the beret underneath the helmet. Not sure if you can with the ranger gear.
@@yourehereforthatarentyou If the duster had sleeves I would agree with you. As is, the duster looks like trash. NV's low poly paste arms look horrible. Then there's also the edgelord factor.
@@SkyNinja759 the sleeveless version looks a lot better on ulysses because it was designed with him in mind. i more meant the lonesome road artwork version as the canon courier design is much better than the ranger armor, bc it doesn’t imply that ncr-aligned courier is canon. has kinda taken away some of the role playing element of the courier also the veteran ranger armor is 1000x more edgelord than anything else in the game by far
The different riot gear helmets do have a glitch that allows you to wear the beret as well, at least on ps3 they did, so its a distinctly new vegas option
what's more impressive is the implication that Boone has better time-space control than a pip boy, cos he's already in a relaxed pose with gun up while the bullets still in travel.
“One For My Baby” is peak Murder Mystery Noir. An Ex-Soldier’s wife was kidnapped, and it up to the strange outsider to figure out who it was. In the end, it the Inn Keeper, a middle aged woman with a cheery demeanor and optimism in her spectacles. That is, until her glasses were blown off her face by a bullet.
What tipped me off was how she talked trash about Boone's wife. How she spoke lowly of Novac compared to Vegas. So I suspected her immediately, No-Bark's statement also helped.

its stupid how realistic something like that truly is. microsoft signs off acquisition rights and presents the idea to a reputable film studio. 18 months & millions of dollars in revenue later, you could be sitting on the couch watching Fallout on TV. would be such a great setting for something like that, on par with star wars if executed properly.

I like only if you pick Manny, if you pick him I don't think you even need to give Boone evidence, he has such a grudge against ex friend that he instantly believes you it was him. Very nice touch
When I did this quest. I was pretty satisfied. Boone worked hard, fought for his beliefs. Settled down with his family to enjoy a peaceful life. And some old bag decides she’s gonna sell his family? And his best friend turns a blind eye? Screw that.
@@lonewanderer1328 after I finish the quests or If my speech is high enough, I get my platinum chip info, then I waste him, he prolly setup the sale with may and isn't saying shit cause he knows how to keep his mouth shut from being in gangs. Legion deal with the Khans, and didn't man's deal with the khans back in the day? Only reason he's on defense tower when Boone isn't is cause of guilt and penance.

He knows something, , also, you ever notice how you clear out the rocket facility and whens it's said and done, the mf doesn't even go anywhere near it. What was the point of that? It makes me think our coming into NV was right after Boone's wife got got and he was still in the first recon. So when we do the quest, he's hiding evidence or has already done it.
@@dayshon124 ... You realize he asks you to clean it out because feral ghouls are coming from it, not because he wants to go to it, right? To clarify some other things. He *Used* to be with the Khans, if he joined the NCR after that we can assume that the Khans weren't yet even thinking about contacting the legion. He left the NCR after bittersprings only because people called them murderers basically. As far as All of that goes, there's no way he could have put anybody in contact with the legion, so it's more likely she sold Boone's wife off as a ‘Capture’ to the legion by herself.
I also like the fact that when you first meet him he's in an RNC armor, and usually when you strip down a character he's left with what he had on when you first met him. Boone, for whatever reason, just remains in his underwear
This is why Boone is one of my favorite characters, I can never betray him and join the legion I would feel too bad He has the best backstory even though it’s a small one
Honestly, I think if I'm gonna ever do a Legion playthrough I'll just pass through Novac to get the informations I need about Benny and get out, I just couldn't bring myself to disappoint my main man like that

Fallout 3 and 4 were done by Bethesda, rather than Interplay/Black Isle like the first two. The first 2 were 2D turn-based shooter wide open sandbox RPGs, while 3, 4 and New Vegas are 3D first/third person wide open sandbox RPG/shooter games. New Vegas takes place around Las Vegas and the plot starts off with the player character, a courier, getting mugged, shot in the head and left for dead. The plot initially is them wanting revenge and the package they were to deliver back.
@@nekosparkclaw2833 This quest takes place at a motel - with a huge dinosaur building (reason why most players know this quest). In there, is a sniper who guards the motel. This quest is all about helping him find the person who’s responsible for getting his wife kidnapped by slave owners. Sniper gives you his red beret; if you find the culprit, bring the the culprit in front of the dinosaur and wear the red beret to signal to the sniper that the person beside you is the culprit. You find out it’s the motel owner bc in her safe, she owns a receipt to sell sniper’s wife to slave owners. That animation is you using that red beret to signal to the sniper. Cool thing about fallout is, this whole thing has no single cutscene. The whole thing happens in real time. You tell the culprit that you have something to show her - and she follows you. You wear the ‘ncr beret’. And the sniper shoots her.
The mission is sad but it is low-key one of the best, you get a safe house and one of the best critical buffs in the game, bonus Boone is one of the best followers.
As someone who hates what Legion deals in and knocks down members of that particular profession in every game, I enjoyed taking her out to see the Dino from front...
One of the more tragic stories if you really think about it. All Boone wanted was to make his trophy wife happy, and she loved him despite where they settled down.
What was goodsprings full? If you're gonna settle the Mojave, it's goodsprings, Primm or Jacobstown where you wanna be. Anywhere else is either an active war zone or the locals are waiting to kill or rob you. And primm is even under attack when you find it.
You really captured the feel of the quest in this. The eyeball is a nice touch. Has a real VATS head shot vibe. I'd love to see more. New Vegas, 3 or 4 all have quests or moments that this could be fun work into something like this (I've not played 1 and 2 but I'm sure there's material there too). Either way awesome job dude

Maybe he's a silly courier like i was the first time, completely forgetting about that "night-time sniper" Vargas mentioned and just leaving Novac until late game (😢)
Of all the moments in New Vegas, reading that bill of sale was the most shocking, most emotionally charged I was for the entirety of my first play through. I felt myself become more and more disgusted and vengeful my enraged as I scrolled through that document on my Pip-Boy. If ever there was an NPC I wanted dead more… it was _her_… not Caesar, not House, not Kimball, not even Benny… but _her_… what I wouldn’t have given to be the one behind the rifle when Boone took the shot that starry night at the edge of Novac… what I wouldn’t given… But Boone needed that… I needed Boone to have that… and that would have to be enough…
God! Damn! I want a New Vegas animated series of Courier 6 (in Ranger armor or Riot Gear, of course) in the Vegas wasteland, minimal dialogue like a Sergio Leone Spaghetti western, from Goodsprings, to Novac, the Vegas Strip, Lonesome Road and beyond.
This is stellar!! I started playing New Vegas a few days ago and genuinely was shaken up by the twist and finding out the culprit. Really made me realize in the wasteland, you can't blindly trust everyone you meet like I tried doing.
Jeannie May watching me solembly remove my power armor helmet and calmly place a beret on my head in the middle of the nigth must be like watching the tsunami roll into shore.

New Vegas was such a well written game, and that quest was a stand out.

courier's 100% always reppin riot gear or desert ranger armor
Boone was my road dog in the wastes, along with ED-e. Scout/sniper build. Nobody within 300 yards had a chance, including deathclaws.

God! Damn! I want a New Vegas animated series of Courier 6 (in Ranger armor or Riot Gear, of course) in the Vegas wasteland, minimal dialogue like a Sergio Leone Spaghetti western, from Goodsprings, to Novac, the Vegas Strip, Lonesome Road and beyond.

This is stellar!! I started playing New Vegas a few days ago and genuinely was shaken up by the twist and finding out the culprit. Really made me realize in the wasteland, you can't blindly trust everyone you meet like I tried doing.
