I love Crema Catalana!! The sugar crust on top turns out amazing! I've so obsessed with this dessert, that I've bought the traditional "plancha de hierro" when I was in Spain, to burn the sugar, thank you Albert for this beautiful recipe

Omg, we just made this tonight, after taking our foreign exchange student from Catalonia to a Spanish restaurant while visiting Southern California. The crema de Catalonia there was out of this world, and I just took a couple of sneak tastes of this as I was pouring into the ramekins, and it was just as delicious! I can’t wait for our student to try this! We made it too late in the day, so tomorrow will have to be the day where we get to do the crusted sugar on top and cry with delight! Thank you for this excellent recipe and video. Sooooo good! ❤️

Hello. I think that is kinda like cream brulee ? and it's one of my all time favorites. The lemon peel, cinnamon & vanilla was nice extra flavor. AND the second best thing about this is the Fun time playing with that flame device at the end...right before the number one fun thing...the eating that yummyness ! Thanks Alberto 👍💗

I made this dish but since I'm lactose intolerant I used Goat Milk and I substituted duck eggs instead of chicken eggs. It came out fantastic friends LOVED IT!, the duck eggs gave it a more richer flavor which is what they are known for.
I will make this again for family this time. Actually this is more flavorful than Creme Brulee.

that's an amazing hack about the lemon peel and scraping off the white, i've never seen anyone do that!! something Chef Ramsey should see LOL. The desert looks amazing!

Spain on a Fork I did not have a gas burner so tried to melt the sugar in the oven, not a good idea! But the taste was great, so I’m gonna order the burner and give it another shot!

This is it - will try for sure! I've made great Crème brûlée but Crema Catalana seems so much easier, just using the stovetop. Cinnamon, vanilla and lemon.. Can't wait :)

I made this yesterday and it turned out very liquefied. The cream did not coagulate even after refrigerating for 10 hours. I made it again, but omitted 1/2 cup milk that goes with cornstarch. Instead, I added the cornstarch only (without the half cup milk) directly to the egg yolks. It was perfect

crem brule'e is a copy of this. This is the origin of this desert. unfortunately it does not receive the recognition it deserves in america. but its very popular in spain.
