    Transport Fever 2:
    Provide the world with the transport infrastructure it needs and make a fortune with custom-made transport services. Watch your trains run on rails, your buses and trucks thunder along roads, your ships power through the water, and your planes soar through the skies. Carry people on their way to work or play, and be the reason cities grow and thrive. Deliver raw materials and goods to drive the economy. Experience the greatest logistical challenges from 1850 to the present day, and build a transport empire unrivalled anywhere else on the globe!
    Free play offers a huge range of creative possibilities, while campaign mode re-writes transport history across three continents. Transport Fever 2 offers a choice of over 200 vehicles from Europe, America and Asia, modelled in extreme detail; and with the in-game map editor, you can re-create landscapes from three different climate zones. Finally, the realistic transport and economy simulator, along with comprehensive modding support, round off the gameplay experience.
    A huge game world is waiting for your railroads, road vehicles, aircraft and ships. Intuitive interactive rail construction tools and a modular construction system for stations make it easy to build and expand your transport empire; and thanks to a wide range of configuration options, every free play game provides a new challenge, where completely different strategies can lead to success.
    It is vital to adapt your company to the needs of the economy and cities: bridges, tunnels, switches, rail signals, one-way streets, light signals, and bus lanes are just some of the possibilities you can use to optimize the transport infrastructure. Even train stations and airports can be expanded with modules in order to meet different requirements; and various data layers help you visualize traffic volumes and emissions, and provide information for further improvements.
    Thanks to the detailed game world, you can develop your very own virtual railroad landscape: the map editor provides the possibility to create countless different worlds; the terrain in the game can be adjusted and painted; and thanks to the extensive modding support, new creations are being developed constantly, which are available for free via the Steam Workshop and which can be easily integrated into the game.

    Great video, as always! :)
    Did notice one trick that was missed, though it's quite an advanced trick which I at least call "Direction Priority Signaling for single track loops".
    Had to explain in text but in a situation where dual track can't be physically used, you can make passing loops and have most signals facing the direction you want trains passing faster on, and usualy hilly terrain, switch back or zig-zag routes, or super heavy cargo, single use lines really benifits from it where prioritizing trains going uphill or heavily loaded to keep their speed is better than downhill or empty trains returning.

      The US is as big as the whole European continent. There's a reason we don't use trains. It's precisely because no one wants a cross country trip in a train.

    lovely video! but sorry a question:
    For the rail hierarchy, how and what do you consider a place to be a town, city, or capitol? Do you just choose? Is there stats of the place you consider before declaring it to be that particular type?

    • @Hushey
      @Hushey  Před 8 měsíci +3

      Hi halo thanks for your commemt! At the start of the game it is essential to choose a capitol. This could be either the biggest, best situated or best looking city, its up to you, as long as it dosent change all the way through the playthrough. By doing this you will grow cities in a more realistic manor which means your capitol will be huge and surrounding cities will be smaller the further out you go. Hope this helps explain and thanks for watching!

    • @halogurunat
      @halogurunat Před 8 měsíci +2

      @@Hushey thanks! So i take it as treating the entire map as a single country so there's a single capitol? Or do I pick a few that are kinda far apart?

    • @Hushey
      @Hushey  Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@halogurunat yep thats right, go for 1 capitol and treat the map as a country

    • @halogurunat
      @halogurunat Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@Hushey ah sorry then I'm confused. How does the hierarchy work? Commuter connects all named towns, then what differentiates the cross country lines from expresses?

    • @Hushey
      @Hushey  Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@halogurunat cross country covers the whole map barely stopping at 2-3 stops. Intercity stops at the biggest cities along the route and has the ability to use cross country and/or commuter track without effecting other services too much

    Hello, me agian, I have a south cargo hub the has train moving good from the south to the central distribution and bringing cargo back.
    I have 1 line "cargo South hubCentral Dist." On that line I have trains that can carry all the different types of cargo to and from the hubs. ~
    I have 35 trains, at 360 meters in length, on that line. and they are just not moving the cargo fast enough.
    My issue is that the train all sit queuing at the platforms waiting to get out back on the main line.
    The platforms are one way, enter from the north end and exit from the south end, to where the train loop back around to head north to the central hub.
    I need help building the exit track from the hubs and how to set the signals so the trains do not sit waiting for a free line.
    Once they are moving there is no traffic queue, the only queue is with them sitting at the platforms.
    Please please help.

    Could not follow virtually anything you were saying. You were talking about one thing while your cursor was flying around (like hand gestures or was preparing for the next part) totally confusing what it was you were talking about.
    No doubt there were some people who followed what you were saying from the start. But my guess would be is that most of those people already knew 99% of what you were talking about and therefore your your speed teaching method didn't throw then to badly. I on the other hand didn't learn a thing much less any thing useful.
    I appreciate very much that their are people like you who are willing to put in the time and effort to share your knowledge. But if you aren't effectively communicating that knowledge your effort is being wasted. Signaling is one of if not most difficult issues most people face in being able to run an efficient system and grow their network.
    But please slow down your delivery and be careful not to assume that everyone knows and understands the terminology. And when using a audio visual presentation making a lot of visual movements especially when those movements are slightly ahead of or behind the narrative creates confusion.
    Wish I could say I learned something anything that was useful as I an sure there was important information contained in there somewhere. Anyone who is watching your video Hope's to learn something. But none of them are going to be as comfortable with the topic as you are. And being comfortable with a topic means you really have to watch how fast you are imparting information, assuming that everyone is on the same page and know and u understand the terminology.

      Sorry you had this issue micheal, feel free to slow the video down using youtubes playback speed feature or pausing the video when needed. Unfortunately the state of social media in 2023 requires me to speed through at a million miles per hour or my retention falls and youtube stops promoting it. Im just a player in the game and theyres not much i can really do about it. All the best going forward micheal.. And thank you for phrasing your critisms kindly! Do you think you could share also where this video was discovered for you as this helps me determine audience demand from different channels (eg youtube search, home page, google search, etc)

    WHY
    did your tone telegraph that you were giving us logic , when your words were just telling us facts
    This is a block , this is a long block , the block turned green because the one ahead of it had a train pass through it
    thats not logical.
    It started so well too , about trains becoming faster in the start
    just tell them they made a committee to figure out how to stop trains crashing and one dude went "This is dumb BUT , trains only crash if 2 trains occupy the same track" .. which is... OBVIOUS.. but.. what if we extend the defination of track to more than just what the train is occupying right now.. So a block of track..... And then use the logic... trains only crash if 2 trains occupy the same track....... So if we put a sign at every block to tell trains wheter the track ahead of them is occupied by another train ... we save people.... and ofc that means if 2 trains are in the same block... EVEN IF they haven't crashed , we now consider it a crash and investigate
    which then explains why signals go red and green.. safely through inefficiency
