- Swami Ananda Siddhartha, German meditation center leader , recorded these pictures on his visits to Rajneeshpuram.
People were living in a big community in rural Oregon that had formed around the spiritual master Osho, then called Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.

The word cult has such negative connotations.....the difference between this world and mainline religions usually begins and ends at the founder being dead for a long time. This man is yet to be fully appreciated. We all need spirituality, but grounded, fearless, real, unoppressive spirituality. Christianity does not meet any of these criteria. I wish humanity would wake up from 2000 years of Christian oppression, which must take full responsibility for the Rashneeshpurams demise, and look closely at what this man had to offer. From a former Christian who grew up.

Do u know what are u talking ? He was the curse as cult master and he remains to be greatest con world has ever known his teachings/work is more of spiritual pornography and self serving nothing great about his work.
I've heard different versions of what went on. Some people seem to have experienced opening and love and growth. Others were abused, forced to work long hours and were sexually used (often even raped). My feeling is that given enough time and the way things were heading downhill (with all the guns and brainwashing) it could have finally ended like Jones-town.

Interesting. A look into the cult, complex I've heard so much of. It was truly heartbreaking for me to find out that Osho was a charlatan and despite his enlightened state, was more lost than the average person.
Someone please try to argue in favor of his materialism (90 rolls royces!!)and manipulation of others, drug addictions, sexual missteps, etc
Brometheus Marmalade he had told in his own words... all these were just to proove those others that sanyas is NOT denial of earthly or hatred for earthly, but just a preference for the better or infact the best.. These earthly will indeed be just the same worth as mud in relative to the bliss , yet can have all the earthly too and still be in bliss ..Sanyas literally mean retired. Just as a retired choose to live shut away from world, sanyasis too were so in earlier years before Aacharya Rajneesh. But only the misunderstood propagated asif sanyasi means one who hates and leaves away to hiding places, etc..
