  • Pacifica Hybrid is still the first and only plug-in hybrid minivan and achieves more than 80 MPGe, has an all-electric range of more than 30 miles and a total range of more than 500 miles:
Pacifica Hybrid owners may be eligible for a one-time federal tax credit of $7,500, as well as potential state and local tax credits
Designed to offer a seamless driving experience with no range anxiety, whether in electric or hybrid mode for city and highway driving, there is no need for the driver to select modes
Equipped with a regenerative braking system, the Pacifica Hybrid captures kinetic energy used to stop the brakes and sends the energy to charge the vehicle’s battery, even after the initial charge is consumed
Pacifica Hybrid’s Uconnect 5 system allows the ability to adjust the battery charging schedule to run during less expensive off-peak hours
It takes 13 kWh to fully charge the Pacifica Hybrid battery, using the national average electricity rate of $0.14/kWh (and keeping in mind household electricity rates differ based on various factors), it costs approximately $1.82 to fully charge the battery using a home charger
Pacifica Hybrid can offer savings of around $2,250 in fuel costs over five years compared with the average new vehicle, and an estimated $41 per month compared with its closest competitor
Pacifica Hybrid emits only 119 grams per mile of tailpipe-only CO2 emissions, with a ranking of 10 (10 is the best) on the EPA’s greenhouse gas rating scale

Got one. Getting over 1,500 miles per tank plugged in every night and sometimes multiple times on the weekends. Just paid $28 to fill it up and with electric costs it came out to $100 for that 1,500 miles. Compared to our Volvo XC90 that was on premium and only getting 19mpg on average, it would have cost us $280+ easily for those same miles.

You really don't need awd. I live in Canada, and I've had 4wd, awd, and 2wd vehicles. I would take 2wd + snow tires over 4wd/awd with all seasons any day of the week. Especially considering what the minivan is for, and the ground clearance, awd doesn't really make sense.

I went through all your videos thinking that I'd find an update a year later on whether the Pacifica had been trouble free or your newest feelings about it. I was disappointed to sorta deduce you don't actually own or keep any of the numerous vehicles you test review. I thought for sure you had purchased that hybrid for you and your family for at least a few years.
So...any chance you could still maybe share some feedback through hearing from your sources?

This is what the world needs. Straight hybrids make an immediate impact on the well being of the planet since their batteries are soo small yet they get much better MPG than the ICE version. I don't get why everyone is diving head first into BEV's, but I will blame Tesla for that push.

This is the main reasoning for Toyotas focus on hybrids using NiMh. But as a family with a hybrid (Sienna), PHEV (Rav4 prime) and an EV(Ioniq). Everything has its advantages/disadvantages. IMO the PHEV is the one that will go first for our needs. It would be best for someone with a single car.
Sienna does family road trip duty, no worries about charging and no EV currently has the size. PHEV (you get the partial benefits of EV but all the ICE maintenance with the short range but option to go anywhere). EV’s the perfect commuter vehicle. Cheap to run, silent, fast, much less maintenance, one pedal driving is great in traffic

@@TobyCostaRica Toyota's hybrids incorporate the best of both worlds. A Toyota Sienna with the 2.5 engine and hybrid gets great gas mileage, adequate acceleration and it's very reliable.. You can't get all that with other brands. Honda would be second in line. Most other hybrids and electric vehicles are plagued with reliability and electrical issues.. I would not trust them. Chrysler is always been a terrible brand played with reliability issues and the same thing is going on now and worse..

It literally covers everything regardless of the amount of miles you've been on it for 7 years. I applaud Chrysler for blacking out the tacky plastic-chrome that they used to be famous for. This would be the look I would go for. Except I shouldn’t say Chrysler. It’s Stellantis now I believe.
