    I love this! God's rain is perfect. I love watching everything say ahhh after a good rain, just like we do. :) We tried to capture rain water in an IBC tote for drier times to avoid using the garden hose, but I didn't like that it was made of plastic as well as the tube, and diverter, etc. Also it is really windy at times here in 6a and it would blow the cover off repeatedly or rip it to shreds if it held on. Then there was the bad bacteria from the plastic and the sunlight. What a nightmare. We gave that to a neighbor after we had a well dug, so we could have natural water to our barn, gardens, chicken coops, and goat yard. I am telling you, my plants are responding so favorably to the natural PH, mineral content, lack of chlorine and other chemicals, and it is consistent water quality. It is cold, clear, and tastes amazing.

    After all the rain we had in England last week my two water butts are full again. And don't shot me but it should be Effect not Affect in the title. The rain is the action/effect which affects the plants.

    Does anyone add coffee grounds to their tote (or bucket) fermenting compost tea? Its a natural source of nitrogen. Just curious how much. Last year I filled a plastic bin with compost and watered the garden with it. We drink a lot of coffee so have a ton of coffee grounds, plus eat bannanas (throw in the skins for the K). And boil the bones and crush them for the P. Thats our workaround since we dont have manure, and dont have a composting toilet or outhouse. I throw everything onto a huge pile and let nature do her thing. Probably should turn it but is a hella lotta work and got other things (like weeding!!) to do.

    Our rain is definitely not pure anymore 🛬 ✈ but it still is the best. Before I had rain barrels, I had much less production with using tap water. Rain totes are great investment. I use 95% collected rain water for my veggie gardens the last couple years and it makes a huge difference. I REALLY notice the boost after a thunderstorm. Something about a thunderstorm makes plants just take off over night.

    • @meljordan220
      @meljordan220 Před měsícem +4

      I believe the thunderstorm actually adds the nitrogen into the rainwater. I think I heard that someplace.
