    Hi I've just come across your excellent video. I couldn't understand how you managed to fit a LIPO 11.1V 2.2AH in the battery compartment.
    I previously fitted a Turnigy battery in my advanced transmitter but it protrudes preventing the cover from closing. There clearly is a difference in battery dimensions between various manufacturers.

    I have tried this mod on my Hubsan h501s using 11.1v. I'm now back to stock, but now using 4x AA "Energizer Ultimate Lithium" batteries. I kid you not! I got 400m extra range (from the same spot). I have used the same battery set over 15 flights now, each flight ranging from 13min to 23 min. It's still on full bars. Just try them. Their around £5 for a pack of 4.

    I just received this Hubsan H501S yesterday with the advanced controller. I also own the Hubsan H301S powered glider with the same remote and use the Turnigy 9XR 1.5c 11.1v 2200 battery to run both transmitters. One at a time of course. Today, I'm looking at the Hubsan manual and it states: "transmitter can only use 2s Lipo batteries?? Others can damage transmitter.. Well according to my math, I replaced 8 1.5v alkaline batteries "12volts" with this lipo. I assume this manual must be making reference to the standard controller. I've not had any issues yet.

    • @alvydas1133
      @alvydas1133  Před 7 lety +2

      Yes you are right that manual reference to the standard controller, because 3S lipo has 11.1v (12.6v fully charged) so don't be afraid and use that battery

      MrPolymers I have read the manual restricting transmitter battery to a 2S. Now, this Could be a misprint..? You are so right, the math just makes sense. On the standard transmitter circut board it does say 4-14v but it does have a larger screen than the pro. I'm putting the 11.1V 8C
      2200 mAh
      back in. Thank you so much....you are the only one that addressed that issue. Cheers!

  • @ws8948

    I am looking to change mine to this batt too. Using AA batts x 8 = 12V. The lipo fully charge should be 12.5V or 12.6. I am just wondering can the transmitter take 12.6V?

    • @Bete_Noir
      @Bete_Noir Před 7 lety +1

      I did not, but I haven't performed any range tests and I've done the antenna mod. The TX PCB specifies an input voltage range that includes 7.4V. I've flown it beyond my sight, but a number of factors influence that outcome.

    • @Bete_Noir
      @Bete_Noir Před 7 lety +1

      I should point out that the 7.4V battery fits nicely into the FPV1 transmitter (as shown in the video), but not into the original model's transmitter as the battery compartment is too small. It can be made to fit there as well, but not without minor surgery.

    Great video and comment support.Thanks Alvydas.I want to use the battery you suggest in this transmitter here:www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters/pp_424346.html?wid=3 any opinion or advise from an expert?
    Hubsan H501s x4 and Hubsan H501s Pro are the same for some reason?

      Well i'm not an expert, but thanks :)And yes, the quad in this link is same as mine and this is a perfect choise for you :) Differences between x4 and x4 PRO is only advanced transmitter (better quality, antennas+range, beeps and batteries)
