- Wastie Birdo knows that if you have to ask, you can't afford it. He asks anyway. He finds the original on-screen Mad Max 1 and 2 black-on-black Interceptor Ford Falcon XB at the Dezerland Museum in Orlando Florida. Along the way he encounters real movie vehicles from James Bond For Your Eyes Only, Batman, Speed Racer, Grease, The Saint, The Monkees, Starsky and Hutch, Easy Rider, and most significantly, Megaforce.

I remember a lot of these cars from my childhood and teens. The World's Longest Car I'd actually forgotten about. That museum is just too cool for school!
Someone found the lotus underwater car from James Bond in a locker auction, they rebuilt it !! They must have sold it to that museum !

The Damnation Alley truck was actually stored in Studio City for about 30 years. Outside behind a gate. I could see it when we drive by on The 101 Freeway. : )

Hey Wastie, you should try to track down the Mad Max 1 Max family Panel Van. A HJ Holden I think a done up Belmont rather than Sandman, with a Statesman nose with Fairmont GXL headlights. I think there are some replicas around but I don’t know what happened to the original. Also, I have heard that a Rambler AMX was considered for Mad Max 1 and painted up but they decided to go with only Australia unique models.

Yeah, Easy Rider was a crazy movie. I love it.
I noticed this XB has the boot mounted fuel tanks. That setup was only present in MM 2. I wasn't aware they modified the car from the first movie for that purpose. I knew Miller was on a really tight budget for the first movie, but I figured he had some more flexibility by the second!
Yeah it was modified just like as if Max had done it!
The Volvo P1800 looked good. I did I see a Mini Moke in the small car display?
And a Mini Moke in the Bond exhibit too!

The Interceptor has to come back to its homeland. It needs to be in Adrians Mad Max Museum in Silverton. But is not worth the 2.5 mill they are asking for. Most original parts have been takin off & replaced & not OG paint. Blower sits to high.

12:09 Being of Italian heritage made me realise that not only Italian have made their own language of sorts but there is always "Spanglish" (I'm sure you've heard of that one!), and nearly every nationality does this and at least there is even a dictonary of Italo -Australian it's mad!
Yarda = Yard, Fensa = Fence, bega = bag (usually plastic bag), and so on!
I suppose it's an example of how language develops...
Most sad though is how Italian language has and is increasingly adopting American marketing terms as they see it modern and "chic"

$2.5 Million USD for the MM Interceptor 🤔 The Cars of the Stars Museum in the UK paid $70,000 AUD for it when they bought it. The UK Museum wanted $1 Million AUD for it when Peter owned it and was asked what he would sell it for.
Yeah I think it will actually only sell when it goes to auction someday, when the current owner dies (unless his kids want to keep the museum going). I doubt it will get over 2 million. But over 1 million? Maybe!

There is so much wrong with the interceptor ._no MFP insignia on the guards …the zooming exhaust is wrong …the front spoiler is wrong ….I saw the original back in 1980 in a Sydney car show …it just doesn’t look right ….
Yeah a bunch of stuff has gotten stolen or screwed up through the years. But it's the real car!
