- The Olympics last supper parody was a sacrilege and mockery of the Catholic faith and I am grateful to the Catholic priests, Bishops and Cardinals who have responded to defend the Holy Eucharist.

The Paris Olympics opening ceremony took a controversial turn with a drag-inspired tableau, sparking an intense online debate. Was it a perversion of “The Last Supper” or a reference to “The Feast of Dionysus”? Regardless, it felt like a deliberate attempt to provoke-and then dismiss-Christians on the world stage.
As a Catholic, I believe this wasn't just an artistic choice; it was a blatant mockery of the Last Supper, the Eucharist, and the Catholic faith held by 1.4 billion people. This incident highlights a troubling cultural trend where "tolerance" often means disrespecting traditional values. However, in moments like these, it's vital that we defend our Catholic faith without succumbing to reactionary intolerance.

In a brief statement emailed to journalists in French, the Holy See said it “was saddened by certain scenes at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games and cannot but join the voices raised in recent days to deplore the offense done to many Christians and believers of other religions.”

“It is difficult to imagine anything more debased and blasphemous. That such an act could take place shows us, in a most painful way, how what was once a Christian culture has become the theatre of Satan and those who cooperate with his thoroughly evil plans, the plans of ‘a murderer from the beginning’ who ‘has nothing to do with the truth’, the plans of ‘a liar and the father of lies’ (Jn 8, 44).

Thank you. It’s has felt extremely dark around the world ever since. The blasphemy is palpable in these Olympic Games with the mockery & the genetic men competing with female athletes. We’ve boycotted the games on our home but I know many Catholics who have not. Appreciate you both and may God have mercy on us and on the whole world.
The silence from Canadian bishops is deafening! Why? They are always silent. Do they care? Are they cowards? It’s so disheartening. I also think every priest on that first Sunday after should have addressed the blasphemy in a calm but firm way. I love my priests and my parish but I think they missed an opportunity by not t addressing it at all. Silence means “oh, it’s ok, not that important, we don’t have to speak up.” WRONG. Thank you for this great video. I agree that we need to hear from our CCCB and am saddened that they haven’t issued a statement yet. It is good to know the history of the Divine Praises and will begin praying that in reparation to the blasphemy of the open ceremony. I have been praying this in reparation:

We just had the gospels of The Good Shepherd recently, and I'm feeling like " Where's our sheperds now? " The wolves are chasing us and scattering us! Thanks for sharing the prayer of reparation.

Thank you Ken and Janelle, my husband is French and my background is French from Mauritius...we come from far generations of French devoted Catholics, i was so sad and cried for days for the reparation done at the Olympic opening . Been doing extra rosaries per day. Its was totally a mockery of Christianity. It actually opened my eyes what's really happening to the world.
I've read and heard many voices raised against this offensive representation, many voices from religious and secular people, French, European, American voices, Catholics, but also from people of other religions and even atheists. It's paradoxical how much unity has arisen from an act that could have divided us. Moreover, these voices raised in unison have made me understand what the holy pride of being a Christian means, in defending a value that is not only 'ours' but of all humanity. This is why when Jesus gave us the Holy Face Devotion it was in Tours, FRANCE. Last week here in Ottawa, we had three prayer processions praying the Rosary and the Holy Face Chaplet and Litany to make Reparation to God for this hatred and mockery and to beg for conversion.
We processed from our Cathedral to the Embassy of France.
I almost cried when a priest showed up and took his place at the lead of the procession. A Deacon came out the second night, but no ordained Minister on the third. Our Lord was with us, our great high priest. There is an oppressive cowardice with our leaders which we pray the Holy face Devotion will break through.
I5s so encouraging to hear the American Bishops and priests speaking out. Fr Chris Alar also gave the contact details for us lodge a complaint . My country had also been rather quiet😢.

God Bless you Ken and Janelle for standing up proudly for Our Lord. Week after week I sit on the pew in our Church and pray for our priests to say something, but sadly they are not. The orders from our Bishop in the Orlando Fla diocese wants a 7 minute homily - his motto is get them in and get them out. We are on our own without any shepherd. I believe in the “true” presence and will continue to attend the Celebration of The Eucharist. I feel so completely lost and betrayed by our Bishops also. Let us continue to pray.

I didn't watch the opening ceremonies but heard about this atrocious and disrespectful display on the international scene. One French supposed apology stated this was done in France where they do can do what they want when they want. How sad! I pray this was a wake up call for all Christians and non Christians to how intrinsic the works of the Evil One has entered society. May it be the 'last straw" to our complacency so we defend what we know is the truth of the Eucharist. I am not shocked by what happened in the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. I was really shocked when Pope francis announced that the couples of irregular relationships can come to the church and get blessings from the priest . I was in an unbelievable state how Pope francis opened this door!!!!!

Our prayer group called St. Joseph's Missionaries of the Holy Face did three processions in Ottawa this week in reparation for the sins of France and the Olympics. We walked from Notre Dame Cathedral to the French embassy and back saying the Holy Face chaplet, Rosary and litanies. Such a small effort but I hoped it wiped away some tears. I absolutely agree with you about our Canadian bishops! Where are they? In our parish in Quebec, it was business as usual...the environment, politics in the US. Nothing about what happened. Lord have mercy on us.

The inaugural of the Olympics was totally wrong but it did not end there. There was also an instance of a man who identified as a woman, being permitted to compete with a woman in boxing.
This is totally unacceptable coming from a catholic country. Something like this happening in India would have drawn more flak from all the countries

Our cardinal in India thankfully made a statement echoing similar sentiments on the same lines of what Bishop Barron said. I too did my part to write to the Olympic Committee sharing my shock at that horrible display of the opening ceremony.

I am Baptist but love your show and find much in common with you spiritually. I was horrified when I saw what happened at the olympics. As Baptists while we don't see the communion in the same way per say, it is still a very important, sacred time for us. Its not be taken lightly, without self examination of sins commited, and to remember what our Lord did for us. And for you my brothers and sisters in Christ I agree it was a mockery of the Eucharist for sure.

The Olympic ceremony "artistic creators" said they were using a French painting of a bacchanal for their source. If you look at the history, that painting was mocking the Last Supper. So no excuses whatsoever. They knew what they were doing. IF they did not realize how offensive they were being, they were being played by evil in the big scheme of things. It was still a mockery and blasphemous and requires reparation.
