- I happily put all my Rosa Gallery paints into the same palette today, and fell in Iove with them all over again! The new Princeton Neptune brush I use, is also totally gorgeous!
(Correction: The Cadmium Yellow Light is actually PY35)

(As an Amazon, Temu & Jackson's Art Associate, I earn a small amount from my purchases, which doesn't affect the price for you. I'm very grateful when you purchase anything via my links, thank you!
I just received my Rosa 14 pan botanical set. Swatched, and love the creamy colors!
Lovely!!
Rosa were the first professional watercolors I bought and I just love them! I bought the moni pigment set from Amazon.
I've been very impressed with them! Quite a few of these are found in the Monopigmented set, and I especially love the transparent ones! I did some colour mixing last night, and the Aureline, Magenta Rose and Bright Blue made the most stunning colour wheel I've ever seen!!
I have so many paints but the Rosa are calling out to me 😮
I would say that you definitely don't need all of them if you have other brands, but one or two I'm in love with: the Aureolines, Magenta Rose, Quin Lilac, Coral (if you don't mind non-lightfast opaque!), and Royal Brown, from this lot.
Thanks Helen, you’re a big help 🌸 I’ve just bought some MaimeriBlu 😁
Oooo - not tried those before!!
What a pretty set of colours! Nice to see them altogether 😊. Rosa (and more Roman Szmal) are definitely on my radar for when I come off my low-buy. My local art store has started selling tubes of Rosa as well.
They are definitely worth trying out! I don't think you need full sets, but some of them are outstanding!
The colors are so pretty 🥰🥰🥰 I usually don't mind to mix brands in one palette but for some reason I'm determined to keep my rosa gallery and roman szmal palette clean from any other brands 😅
I used to not want to mix anything, but I don't mind at all now. It just turned out that I'd bought one Roman Szmal colour I really wanted, and had by chance only got 34 Rosas.
Any colours from either brand you'd really recommend, by the way?
@@helencryer I would always recommend brilliant orange by roman szmal because I just love it so much, its a very reddish orange but I've never seen another color like it in any other brand.
I'll have to take a look at it!
Rosa gallery were the very 1st set of paints I got and made me fall in love with watercolour painting. Initially I had bought Landscape set and then botanical. Finally have enjoyed them so much that I have bought every full pan available I think about 68 altogether. Their 4 granulating colours and mixing their gold and silver with other paints make absolutely amazing paintings. Its pure joy to soul. Have you tried their granulating ones yet?
Oh wow - that's an amazing set you have!!
No, I've not tried them, though I saw recently a dot chart for them, so might try that out.
😍 I can't wait to get some of these.
I did a load of colour mixing with these after the video, and the Aureoline, Magenta Rose and Bright Blue made the most amazing limited palette ever - insanely vibrant colours and mixes!!
Looks beautiful.❤
Thanks!
Oh dear, watched this video & find the colours annoyingly good as I’ve recently acquired a Schmincke set now wondering if I’d known about Rosa Gallery whether they’d have been a cheaper but better buy?! Will carry on with my paints but keep these in mind for future. Thanks
Schmincke are one of my best ❤️
I have a few regular Schmincke colours, and quite a lot of the Schmincke Supergranulating colours, and think they're great! I'd say there are a few real stars in my Rosa Gallery palette though - I especially love the Aureoline, Magenta Rose, Quin Lilac, Aureoline Green and Royal Brown.
@@helencryer The aureoline green was a colour I liked too & the lilac & rose tones.
Very interesting video 😊
Thanks!
Really enjoy watching your videos, so relaxing and informative.
Quick tip, when popping in your pans, it's more effective if you first place the edge of the pan in/on the rigid rail and use the rolled edge of the other side to gently guide the pan down and in. Saves your fingertips as well.
Thanks ever so much!!
Didn’t watch a of this yet. Would this be good fkr a beginner learning to mix? Maybe if I put certain ones together?
I would suggest that you pick out transparent colours to learn to mix with. I'm not familiar with all of the Rosa Gallery paints, but personally I'd avoid cadmium colours to start with, as they mix more murkily in my opinion.
So pretty and organized ~ ❤
As a newbie here, what does the little squares mean?
The square is used by most watercolour companies to tell you how transparent or opaque the paint is. If it's fully coloured in it's opaque, and if it's empty, it's transparent. When I was starting out, I just bought paints because I liked the colour, but I've found I like working with more transparent paint, partly because I think they mix more nicely, and let the light of the paper come through. (I still sometimes buy more opaque paints just because I love the colour though, and am happy to use it on its own - like the Coral here.)
I have their Quinacridone gold and black grape which I find superb. The only colour they don't appear to offer is Alizarin crimson unless you know otherwise? Can you advise whether any of their other reds come close please? Thank you, Dudley 😊
I couldn't find an Alizarin Crimson on the websites I use for them either. I only have the Rosa Gallery Bright Red, I'm afraid, so would only be able to make a guess from looking online, sorry (and I'd guess the Madder Red).
Is there anywhere in the USA to buy pans separately? Amazon only has sets. Really would love to try these out!
I'm not familiar with the American market, sorry.
Amé tu video, tu paleta tiene colores hermosos ❤
Thank you!
I like to watch you swatch! I got a set last year and my Cadmium Yellow Light was PY35. Did they change the composition?
You are quite right - my mistake! I copied the Naples Yellow Light pigments out again, for some reason! Thank you!
Good morning 👋🏼 😊
Good afternoon!
@@helencryer Actually, it’s good evening now!
Feeling like I need it to be good night already!
@@helencryer 😂
From the first seconds of the video, I was happy to see a Ukrainian watercolor in the video, but when I saw a pan palette from a Russian company, it upsets me.
Sorry to have upset you.
@@helencryer don't be sorry. They are colours, not some political statement;)
@@giespel68 the colors are not the problem. the problem is that by purchasing russian product you pay taxes to the russia. all the products are taxed and by buying it you give money to the russian government which gives a large percentage of tax money to their army and missiles creation.
white nights are nice paints and have nice pallets but nowadays you can buy the same thing from a different brand with the same quality (or better). simply avoiding russian products helps a lot. (the difference is that if she had that before and simply reused what she had on hand, and buying a brand new russian pallet knowing well why you shouldn't do it)
Thanks! I haven't bought any Russian brands since understanding this.
@@wandby7090 not my war! I certainly wouldn't 'punish' any company for what their government is doing. I'm happily buying white nights paints again. They're great.
