This is a park in Dothan, Alabama called Westgate. That isn’t a parking lot that’s a road and that park is meant for children’s baseball games which is why he cleared the fence so easily. They didn’t expect kids to be hitting bombs.

In a weird situation like this, there is often a lot of liability to go around. If these guys are pros, then various insurance companies will probably bear the brunt of it, and that is usually a fairly orderly process in practice (i.e. nobody goes to court, it just settles), but if they're amateurs, then it's probably going to be a shitshow of everybody pointing fingers at everybody else.

Found it on a map, and the angles seem to be on the road. The driver might have been lost though. The car's first stop was at a "Trail X-ing" crosswalk, and the second stop was a few feet before a stop sign (the car seems to jerk to a stop, maybe noticing the baseball?) None of the other softball or baseball fields around it have high enough fences to prevent this from happening either. The car was on Middlebrooks Dr. across from Westgate Softball Complex, Dothan, AL. They were in the only field directly facing the water tower.

I think it’s unfair that the batter is liable. Since you can’t really predict where a baseball is going to end up flying, it’s random. The person in the car, should have realized that they were playing, and have been aware of the consequences of potentially being hit in the first place place. Also, even though it’s dark out, there are lights all around the stadium, so there’s no way the person in the car didn’t see them. Also, the car slowly creeps upward before he even hits the ball. And literally starts accelerating after he hits, and stops like 2 seconds before impact…
