Imagine the poor actors telling everyone that they got to sit in the same gun stations as Han and Luke only to go to the theater and find out they had been cut.
You're right. I always feel bad for the actor that played the older Anakin Skywalker. The only scene he has, were he is not in make up as a damaged and scarred Vader, has been digitally changed to insert Hayden Christensen's visage. Many of the newer generations of Star Wars fans will never see his real face because the older version of Episode IV is unavailable to them. What an incredible disservice to a fine actor and his family.
Seeing the deleted scenes, in isolation, is one thing. Seeing that other Rebels were on the Falcon, doing repairs, firing the two cannons- adds more to the battle. Even the deleted Pilots, who are Women, and other Species of the Alliance, help show the Rebellion against the Empire Forces. And, Moff J' under some anxiety to destroy Endor and the Army, with the Death Star,...A re-edit of several of the SW films would be 'cool' for an anniversary. Is this likely to happen -not in the current reality! Fans, show their creative effort.
Ojalá con las escenas eliminadas insertadas y mejoradas sería fabuloso
Adywan might add it if we're lucky.
Also worth noting that one of th gunners is Airen Cracken, one of The Alliance's intellegence chiefs
Why add back in something like that when you can have a cartoon rabbit spitting into a microphone?
As I wrote this, Gina Carano is about to sue Disney for firing her from the SW:Mandalorian series, with the backing of Elon Musk's legal team. We might see the "Revenge of the X".
If anyone remembers the CD-Rom game, "X-Wing Alliance", I guess this means that one of the Milennium Falcon's gunners is Ace Azzameen.
Damn right!
I loved that game. Always picked the Falcon for that battle.
And the other, older, man is Airen Cracken
I still have that game and I need to play it
The first gunner is Airen Cracken, head of rebel Intelligence (and later New Republic Intelligence) and, arguably, the inspiration for (if not alternate identity of??) Luthen Rael from "Andor".
How would he be Luthen?
Good to know I'm not the only one who recognized him
IMHO I always thought at Luthen Rael as the Canon version of Garm bel iblis not at a character inspired by Airen Cracken
battle of endor still is the greatest space battle in all the star wars movies.
I wouldnt go that far, but it is good to see that there were rebels aboard the Falcon
I would say that Battle over Coruscant is the best one.
@@qiufilmslet me guess. You grew up during the prequel era? I find that to be the case a lot of the time. No shame here bro but back in my day this WAS the best space battle. I would agree the Battle of Couracant WAS cool but it wasn't as in depth as this one. It was just another battle albeit an important one sure. But here all of the rebel Starfleet was engaged and trapped at Endor. It was ride or die all the way. They were so fucked and yet they won.
@@willlauzon3744 I grew up with the original trilogy and I think the battles of coruscant and scariff were better than Endor. Sue me.
@@horacio7465 what the hell is a skariff? Is that the salt planet? The one where they flew speeders with no guns at Imperial walkers and didn't even bring a tow cable? And they all got shot down like chumps because they didn't have guns or shields? The. Luke showed up and peaced out of the trilogy because fuck off Ray Palpatine? Yeah. I think I will sue you
The youngest one operating the turret must’ve been Ace Azzameen from Star Wars: X-wing Alliance.
As evidenced especially by the sound effects!
Even as a kid I had always wondered why there wasn't anyone manning the Falcon's laser turrents during the battle. To see this extra footage of th Millennium Falcon fully crewed is sooo cool!
That's right. The Falcon requires two gunners to operate at full combat capacity. Lando and anyone else in the cockpit can't actually fire the guns from there.
They can. They can fire them locked forwards. And they can use a small arms turret as well.
@@kudosbudo
Worked out great in the X-Wing Alliance game. You could lock the turret guns in the forward position or use the targeting computers to auto lock and follow targets.
@@kudosbudo Is that from a game?
Fun Fact the older gunner got a lego minifig in 2014 in the B-Wing set and also got a Vintage Collection figure in 2011 when Hasbro made figure for deleted scenes
You mean General Airen Cracken?
@@PeGeProd Yep its the same person
I remember thinking, "why the hell isn't anyone in the gun bays just blasting away?!?" I wanted to see lasers flying around all over the place from the gunners.
They probably thought it'd look too busy/remove some of the tension. When the Falcon flies into the Death Star II, there are some Tie Fighters that follow them. It would've been too easy for the Falcon to just blast them with the gun bays lol
I love this. Yeah. The falcon would have been fully crewed so kudos
Who wants the rank of "I fired the falcons guns in ROTJ" and ended up on the cutting room floor....uuuuugh
Would love to see original trilogy with all deleted scenes added in be fantastic
Those Rebels must have paid first class for plot armor protection.
So many iconic shots in there. Honestly can't think of anything in the recent Disney era Star Wars that looked as memorable as most of those shots. So sad :(
0:23 That A-Wing pilot's like sure dude, all calm and confident, then two seconds later he's space dust.
I believe the pilot is actually female, but a male voice was dubbed in the final cut.
I love the extra scenes. However I had thought that Lando locked the cannons into a forward position and was firing. In a NEW HOPE, Han kept the Falcon in a stationary position while him and Luke manned the cannons.
Incredible work my friend, specially the sound!!
The asian pilot who yelled "there's too many of 'em" go recreated in ID4
The scene with the Rebs in the corridors of the Falcon thrashing from side to side reminded me of the original Trek. Was waiting to see Shatner's Kirk in the Falcon's cockpit...
Outstanding touches 💘
Cool well done
You did an amazing job with adding deleted scenes and adding shots from Rogue One! Nice work!
Deleted Scenes: iffy.
rogue one: Nope
huh?
There are no scenes from Rogue One.
I noticed even as a kid that the Falcon wasn't shown using it's turrets. Even when it is shown shooting, it's only straight ahead like the turrets are fixed forward.
What I would LOVE to see is the planned sequence where B-Wings take down a Star Destroyer. Look up the McQuarrie pre-production painting and you'll see what I mean.
I love seeing the extra shots of crew on the Falcon, but watch out for match cuts like the one around 00:15 or so, between the two different gunners.
That's tragic... I feel so bad for the actors!
Would have been cool do see those extra shots of Lieutenant Blount and General Cracken and the other rebels in the Millennium Falcon.
God that gave me chills.
I know 11 yr old me could've tolerated 5 more minutes to give Wedge some well deserved screen time...but the Battlestar Galactica gunners in the Falcon would've bothered me bigly.
That young guy looks awesome, I wanna know more about him ...
Theoretically, if legends were canon, ace azameen (who you play as in x-wing alliance) would then be a movie character!
Legends are canon. The disney stuff is fan fiction.
he may have not gone far enough in a few places…
Wedge was a boss here
it makes sense to show the turret gunner, although in A New Hope the Falcon takes out the TIE fighters chasing Luke - was Chewie manning the cannon?
00:17 is that Lt.Blount?
Jesus I didn’t know Return of the Jedi had hidden sexy men on the millennium falcon. Where’s our extended edition.
No. Just no.
@@Surprise_Inspection pardon?
one of those guys is Ace Azzameen
When you are editing for time and someone says, "who tf are these jamokes?".
I once loved Star Wars.
Before the Dark Times, before Kat Kennedy and Disney.
DAMMIT GEORGE!!!!!!! DAMMIT!!! DAMMIT!!! DAMMIT!!!
I can see why they were deleted.
why?
All 3 of those guys boarding the Falcon look so similar, I thought this was a fan who comped himself into the same shot 3 times 😂
Maybe it's a new clone army!
Rogue One? I don’t understand. What are they imagining is from Rogue One?
I've never seen those falcon interior shots. Where'd you get them?
Woah, good to see that there were rebels aboard the Falcon. Also they dubbed the woman pilots voice with a mans, LOL
Should have kept it in the original.
It looks cheesy im glad they cut it from the film! 😂
It's just me or the gunner kinda looks like Kyle Katarn? Lol
Who’s the gunner guy in this deleted scene?
Looks like they did an even better job than Luke did in the first movie.
Must suck to get cast in Star Wars only to be deleted from the final cut.
They were better at shooting than Hand and Luke.
why would there be so many people on the falcon
They're there to fight a battle. Two gun turrets, plus copilot, plus people to help Lando, who's a general leading the attack.
Id prefer this with out rogue one added in
It shame the ghost wasn't there because she would smoking fighters to
Canonically, Hera did fight in the Battle of Endor, presumably in the Ghost.
@@Darceus2000 well according to the TV series starwars rebels they stayed on Lothal incase of retaliation and they were sick of the lack of direct action against the empire maybe the change there mind after rogue 1 or they may have returned to lothal
@@jonathanmckeage8222You may have to rewatch the Rebels epilogue, because Sabine's voiceover specifically says that Hera and Rex fought in the Battle of Endor.
The blonde gunner is cute
0:18
0:47 i like how theres loads of shooting sound sfrom the falcon but no actual shooting. I forgot how bad these old films were.
it was smart to remove these scenes. It shows the gunners as heros (we've never even met them, or know their names) when the main cast are supposed to be the heros.
Wow!! Amazing work adding GRal Craken deleted secenes!!
Meanwhile, we get the Rey trilogy and told by countless newcomers (who never had any stake in Star Wars fandom till JJ and Rian) tell us we're toxic for not liking it.
some of the footage is from rogue one.
got that backwards, Rogue One used some of the cut footage from A new Hope
@@TimBrazeau one learns something new every day.
Great editing, but I can see why they got left out now. While fun and interesting, these missing shots seem to dip the energy and excitement a bit. The forward momentum is better kept without them.
Hier der Darcho J. Pegasus Galaktica 7 Cyborg /Gorilla Cyborg - Intergalaktische Geld geschäfte mache ich kaufe Planeten usw.
The question I have is: is ROTJ better as a movie without this scene it it? I'm sure clearly someone thought so.
In my worthless opinion , no. Adds some valuable context for scenes that were retained. Seeing strangers in the falcon guns during all this bitter space fighting, at least to me added a layer to the "Flavor" of ROTJ, which, in '83 I think would have had an impact of people watching it for the first time....Not a big huge one, but just enough of one, you know?
but there's a reason they don't let me edit movies in Hollywood anymore....You go on ONE explicit six hour highly racist tirade about Malaysians in a script writing room and suddenly nobody wants to work with you. It's a conspiracy. Those Malaysians.... >_>
In all seriousness,
I'm still jonesing for that 6 hour Phantom Menace cut
Terrible might as well just title it return of the jedi battle scene.!!!!
0:25 That pilot is played by a woman, but they gave her a male voice in the dub.
Shame, since that reduced the number of females in the original trilogy by twelve percent!
Ewoks are the worst thing to happen to star wars besides the Disney sequels and the force unleashed game.
Looks like grandpa's off his meds again 😂 it's been 41 years man, it's time to move on
@@noivern8869 I HATE THEM
There indeed was NO NEED AT ALL to include shots of rebel crews inside the Falcon. Those "characters" bring NOTHING to the scene, as a matter of fact, they're a noise during the space action. It's all inferred as it should be. Less is more. Glad they originally didn't include ANY of that. Those fanboys who wish to see a special edition of everything with everything included clearly know nothing about storytelling.
Disagree completely. Maybe i dont know storytelling, but i know what makes a fun movie.
good lord that was absolutely horrible. no wonder it was cut.
