    Hi
    Struggled with this one...
So, among others faults, this Galaxy came to me with the airbag light on.
On a scan, came up with B0001...
Got there in the end, but was not easy...
Follow me on this video to find out what was the problem and how to resolve it.

Right from beginning i was thinking the fault says Driver “Frontal” and the live data you were looking at says Driver “Side” meaning the side not the front, i think there is no PID available for the driver frontal, strange, anyway excellent repair.

You didn´t cut corners on this one . I would straight have gone with the resistor box . Weird that both the Autel and IDS didn´t give you actual values . Not the first time that I've had different values on different scanners but yours had the same readings. weird , really weird . You fixed it and that's what counts .

Your fault code is for FRONTAL airbag, your data PIDs are for SIDE airbag. There is no data PIDs for either of the front bags in this system. We often find people go off in the wrong direction when not reading what it actually says on the screen.😉

Very Good Video, I have that code on my mondeo mk4 2.0 Titanium X, The clocks on mine are different but same car. Airbag light came on once and it stayed on for about 30 minutes then it went off after I came back from the shops. 6 months later took it for a MOT and at the Kwik fit it came on again.
Did Forscan and it came up with that code. I think I will use the Forscan to look at the airbag readings on the oscilloscope But I think from your experience in the video I'm Just going to go ahead and remove and clean the yellow clip under the squib and see if the light goes out.

Got to love Ford and their lack of data / info. The data value "Driver side airbag deployment control" is for the side air bag on the driver seat. Hence it not changing when you forced an open circuit or dialled in a resistance value. In open circuit state it would normally read approx 60 ohms and a value of around 5-7 ohms will bring the light on for high resistance. There appears to be no data value for the driver front airbag. They don't make it easy to fix the older ones!!

none of the live data showed the ohms of the steering airbag as it actually was, thats why he had issues finding it, it would set a code but no scanner could see its live data, the live data showing 2.18 ohms was not real data, and didnt alter even when disconnected, it as not a bad video, but showed the logic louis followed even when data gave him little help, and better than leaving it all out just to make louis look like a genius who happened to find it inside 10 seconds
