Am super disappointed that we won't be getting more Al Lowe Larry remakes, the news of all that craziness depressed me way more than any grown adult should get over a video game. Also The Gabriel Knight series seems to be in the same situation... remade the first one, and now.... nothin'. *sigh*
But all the same, this was a super cool interview, thank you guys for posting this up!

With great minds like him no wonder those games were so wonderful. Wish the environment fostered more designers like him.

Thank you Al for having made your career shift. I hope it sent you on a wonderful new chapter in life. And thank you for making such a wonderfhl series. To create something so unique, regardless of it's popularity level is something of greatness. Not to mention all of the hearts you and your team(s) have touched.
And thank you also for getting Neil Ross involved. The blend of writing, art, and voicing make for a little slice of a dream and universe we lucky ones got to take a full glimpse into.

Working in Marketing Data, this is quite a treat on his parser entry collection discussion.

I was also wondering about the art evolution of Larry. I got to know Larry as his look in LSL6. The game cases often depicted much more and helped to establish the character's feel and look but obviously the game couldn't depict the character in much detail. I wonder when they settled with LSL5 and 6's look, because 2 and 3 had similar look on the cover, there are two covers for 1 and one of them looks like he looks in 5 and 6. It's a strange route, I'd like to hear Al's take on that.
I'm not a big fan of LSL7's art, it's too cartoony for me, not even mentioning later games like Magna Cum Laude or Box Office Bust (or LSL1 Reloaded). I always loved his LSL6 look, partially reminding me of Woody Allen.

Al complains about derivative products flooding the market and yet he's disappointed a remake of a game (a second one!) didn't sell that well.
