    Thanks for helping me fix my issue. It was a paintbrush jammed in the valve. Btw the filters are very washable, for anyone else seeing this, washing them every 3 months or more extends the life of the vac and filters.
    Again, thanks a to. For the how to! I love how simple these are to fix and clean

    Peaches is such a friendly cat, he wants a head rub. I have a different model with a different problem, so this was not helpful for me, but I watched it just to see if Peaches made another appearance. Good tip on evaluating the filters, I really need to change mine.

    Thank you! Had to go through several videos to find my similar issue & you really helped. Mine is a DC25 but pretty much same issue. Love Peaches and should be in all your videos 😉

    Thanks a ton Man! I took the whole thing apart and cleaned it and nothing fixed it. Tried what you said about the hose to main changeover and there was a broken pen in there. Cheers!

    so great video...my issue is the change over valve is working great but...is still not sucking up through hose and all hoses and workings are working good I'm pretty stumped. also all air passages are clear too..weird I say weird.

    • @WHATTHEFIX
      @WHATTHEFIX  Před 5 lety +1

      Sounds like something is not sealing properly.... without seeing its hard to say, but I have had the same type of issue as well. Double check everything, and also make sure their movements are bind-free. Good luck!

    what did you use to hold up the internal hose in the assembly (used to be red)? mine just snapped off and right now it's held together by superglue.

      I drilled a small hole in the broken clip and fastened it with a machine screw. Thanks!

    My vaccum only comes when I pull back to vaccum, standing upright it's off. I also have no suction , felt or sounded like a safety kicked in before it started doing all that. Waiting an hour to see if it is a over heating safety switch

    Hi!
    @1:39 you talk about the modification to keep the bottom hose connected to the other part. (Lol sorry for that weird explanation but if you check that time stamp you will know exactly what I’m talking about. I revenging discovered that the oem red plastic clip on my that holds that hose snapped. I gorilla glue it for now, will check back tomorrow to see if it adhered.
    But I think your metal clip would be a lot more secure. Can you explain what you did and how the assembly for that part was?! I would greatly appreciate it!

    • @WHATTHEFIX
      @WHATTHEFIX  Před 3 lety

      So sorry for the late response... I'm not sure what the metal piece was from... some piece of junk lol! It was simply just a thin piece of spring steel. Something that has flexibility yet stiffness. Other than that, just a small pilot hole for the machine screw so the plastic does not crack when fastened. Im sure plastic like a credit card or the like would work as well. Let me know if you fixed it!

    Is this changeover video similar for the DC40 animal? As I have a tear in the DC 40 Change Over Valve and ordered a new (COV) one.

    My wand works great but no power 💪 from bottom of vacuum maybe this is why checked didn't see any blockage

    • @WHATTHEFIX
      @WHATTHEFIX  Před 6 lety +2

      Yes, if there is no blockage, the changeover mechanism is probably damaged or bound. One would like to see a little sturdier construction in this area on a "high quality" vacuum.

    pussycat just wanna help w/ the diagnosis; damn cute animal
    also to commenters who're like criticizing the dude for swatting at the cat, are you f***in' kidding me? the cat is clearly happy/healthy w/ beautiful fur, and it's all over the owner; this is obviously not a case of rampant animal abuse, sheesh.

    You really have no need to throw the filters away. They are both easy to access and to wash, though you'll need to let them dry before putting back.

    • @WHATTHEFIX

      sometimes you have washed them enough times that the filaments get compromised

    Modern day Dysons are diabolical to be honest; cheaply built and plastic fantastic, very easily broken. My old Dyson lasted about 12 years. My new one is two years old and already having to repair it.

      I honestly didn't realize she was in the video as much as she was until I was uploading it. I guess I am just so used to working around her. She is one a heck of a vermin annihilator!

    • @blackice7408
      @blackice7408 Před 7 lety +1

      so she's like your pet co-worker then? ok - its just the cat looked so delicate, and you were kinda rough on him/her (at least in my eyes). and for you and your cat's safety, for future references, if you're gonna be working around a vacuum cleaner (especially one a consumer didn't take care of like the one in this video) do it in a highly ventilated area, because the air blasting was dramatic, and i saw the amount of dust that was in the air, and i don't want you or your furry little friend breathing in that.

    • @WHATTHEFIX
      @WHATTHEFIX  Před 7 lety +3

      Peaches is FAR from delicate. She has exterminated; mice, rats, squirrels, and because of her prolific killing machine status, there was even some debate of how the remains of an ill fated raccoon that was found in our yard appeared. She is given free roam. There is a little entrance that she can go in and out as she pleases. Apparently she prefers the warm shop with food and water over the coyotes and wolves and cold. Pest control can't get anymore organic or humane than Peaches the cat. Natural cycle of life.

    Next time you record a video, please:
    1) Put the cat in another room before you start.
    2) Get to the point of the video within a reasonable time frame.
    The video ran for 5:30 before addressed the reason why I'm watching. After that, among other things, you suggested that you normally "monkey with it." Oh, ok.
    You may ultimately get there, but I'm bailing at 12 minutes. This was a waste of time.
