First off, the fancast:

And now with that out of the way, a small essay incoming 😅 I'm actually proud of all the preliminary work that went into this vid even though it might not look like much at first glance. But the MC face mod, Ominis clothes mod, the game footage - everything was done by me. And beside screen recording I had no idea what I was doing beforehand.
I wasn't expecting anything from this game and I wasn't even sure I'd be playing it. I never was super into HP and I found that I mostly enjoy the parts of it that were barely in the books - hency my Founders and Marauders vids. So the game could really go either way for me. BUT my god it’s so beautiful and some side storylines are just… - chefs kiss - And our vivarium! And graphorns! Ahhh.
Obviously, the Sebastian questline is mostly great, but I also absolutely LOVED Poppy’s. Poppy and all the beasts are just so precious. :c So yeah, I’ve been obsessing over this game for um… Nearly two months now? And the reason you’re only now seeing this video is because it took a whole month to make. A whole. Month. ONE MONTH GUYS. This is literally the most time-consuming vid I’ve made in 15 years.
And you can blame Mr. Ominis Gaunt for it. I love him. He’s so precious and deserves the world. The moment I finished my first playthrough my mind immediately went to fancasting him. It’s been years since my last fancasting or crossover vids and no one immediately came to mind. Eventually I went through my very veeeery old vids and I remembered Artyom’s Kai and it just clicked and the work began.
I didn’t like how Omi looked in the robe in the game so I went down the modding rabbit hole. I managed to edit his DA (changing all the color variables of the outfit in the code by hand, mind you, because it was blue). Then I just kinda got curious if I could actually port some outfits from other games and I actually did port a Dishonored outfit but I didn’t use it. And then there was MC’s head. I absolutely love Daisy in Ophelia and Ophelia has some very Hogwarts-y shots… So I was like okay, there’re some Rey 3D models, surely it should be doable. And um, not really, not for a first-timer and not for a game with so much facial animation. xD This took a whole week because I can’t sculpt in Blender. So just editing the basic face wasn’t an option, I tried mashing Rey’s and in-game faces together as seamlessly as I could, and then I eventually managed to transfer game’s face animations, and tweaked the face texture to look a bit more like Daisy. A week. A WEEK. Just for the game to crash for me every time I used my mod with face animations. So I was constantly in and out of the game switching between the mods with and without animations to record vids while progressing through. All of this with free cam and tons of takes of the same scenes. But that’s okay, hearing Ominis over and over again wasn’t so bad!
And then it was two weeks of going through movies, tv shows & searching for Sebastian fancast and only three days of actually editing dozens of hours of footage.
The search for Sebastian was especially frustrating, because I don’t actually like Sebastian? The voice actor did a fantastic job, his questline is great & in the first half of the game I did like him. A lot. But then the constant gaslighting of all the characters around him & constant manipulating of his friends and sister kept going on & on & on… Let’s just say I had no trouble turning him in (especially since it gave me two more interactions with Omi instead of him 😂).
In the end I did find some actors who visually looked like Sebastian, but had little to nothing to work with in terms of period pieces. Louis was my first… shall I say gut choice? So I decided to look up something of his but Enola and BOY did Medici work great. Louis absolutely has that Sebastian vibe and you cannot convince me otherwise.
And Gemma in Tess seemed like a no-brainer for Anne.
So. Yep. This game and this vid took me on quite a journey and gave me some modding skills I never knew I could acquire.
I tried making this as non-shippery as I could, but I just ship Omi x happiness, and in my head that’s Omi x MC. That and my friend said hey why not give 15-year-olds romance so you can blame her for the ending. :D

The casting is sooo good, especially Ominis that’s exactly how I see him
Ominis was great but I think for Sebastian Lucas Jade Zumann who played Gilbert in "Anne with an E" would be great. He has similar face, even the freckles!

This was stunning. Thank you for creating this. So well put together. The pieces of the storyline. The friendship absolutely stunning. I just started playing this game and I know I have a long way to go but already they are both my favorite characters so far and I look forward to see what good or bad things happen.

God, yes, I loved this! Okay, this is just weird, because me and my sister literally just finished playing the game last night, haha! We've spent the last two months trying to 100% the game and we finally did. We both loved Sebastian and Ominis. That whole subplot was the best in the whole game, though I loved the whole game. Amazing job on this! Loved the manips and casting choices. Totally sharing this with my sister.

You have done a fantastic job, I can’t believe the effort put in. I ship onimis and MC so much, onimis is such a cool character and his ‘live action’ version you chose is wonderful (I won’t deny I have not watched anything the actors were in so I went searching for your references for the clips haha). I wish I was good at modding, the new outfit on ominis was so gorgeous and suited him better, I wish it wasn’t just the MC who had different outfits to wear, it was always weird to me we’d go on dangerous story missions with seb and ominis and they never changed out of their outfits, nor their skin looked marked from the combat! No one wore casual stuff outside of classes, it was weird.
You have made me really pine for a movie spin off or series now with the hogwarts legacy story, including not quite a love V, but still some interest with both boys but more so hinting at endgame MCxOnimis 😊 in my version of the game, I handed seb in so I imagined scenes playing out where in a few years after leaving school, I would visit seb in askaban and tell him me and onimis are together. It likely won’t be a long happy ending (not if onimis’s wiki lifespan has any canon truth), but at least we’ll go down together haha.

awww, thank you! ^^' Maybe my gripe with Sebastian is partly because I grew protective of Ominis and just... ignoring his trauma the way Sebastian did wasn't winning him any points with me. I had the same problem with Chloe in LiS, but when she wasn't around Max I was fine with her.

This video is absolutely perfect. I was the same way. Loved Seb when I started playing and then I got to the end and I was like... ehh on second thought, he's clearly not ready for a relationship. Or a wand tbh lol. That's when it became easier to see how wonderful Omi was. Omi x MC are definitely endgame in my head.
