- I am so sorry, but I just couldn't handle it anymore, Fire Mage is just not fun for me and it's making the videos less and less fun for both me and the community, so I decided to give up on the 0 to 3000 series. I did round out the Tyrannical week with +20s and share the last 4 timed runs I do.
I hope you did enjoy the series while it lasted, the struggles, the wrong spell names, the wasted Hot Streaks, the wipes and the bit of blasting I managed to do every now and again.
The next video will be sometime next week, depending on how long it will take me to edit it, like I mentioned in the video, it's going to be a long one and a one-off, but I think it'll be a lot of fun for both me and anyone willing to watch!

I had a great time watching all of these episodes of the fire mage but if you aren’t going to be having fun then I agree it’s time to move onto a class you enjoy more! I’ll keep watching and I’m sure everybody else will too! Can’t wait to see what the next series is!

I will absolutely continue watching your channel, and support you 100%. If you’re not having fun, then you have to do whatever it takes to change that. At the end of the day, we’re here to watch you have fun - and live vicariously through you (that’s me, I’m not great at the game and it’s fun for me watching you have fun lol).

You may say you stink, but you're still killing what I'm doing.....I did a fire mage to follow your journey and I was very discouraged too.
It's really punishing, that's how it feels. Any mistake before or during Combustion just instantly tanks all of the damage you can do. I don't think I like playing specs that operate like that :D

I was very excited to watch you play fire mage. I decided to level up one as well, and during the leveling, I fell out of love with it.
Honestly, there's a lot of quirks with it that just make it exceedingly punishing. And leveling also feels poopy unless you're really tryharding, while other specs in the game can literally use two buttons and absolutely destroy the leveling dungeons
I'll watch any series you continue with. I dont play WoW currently but i aim to return soon and these videos are a great watch to keep me occupied. GL on next series

Not the only person asking for a DPS DK, I'll give it some thought! (:
Sometimes you're just playing the wrong class or spec it happens. I will say you inspired me to start a series of my own for a zero to hero. I haven't played really for years (in any serious capacity mostly just log in for weekly mog runs for a month or two at the start of expansion before quitting) so I think I want to come back and try something new like this. Except I want to try it for raiding. From new character, no friends, no guild, and level and find a group to do at least AotC with (probably for first raid of war within since current content is just being farmed for GDKP). Thanks for the inspiration.
Your ability to pick up a spec, learn it and play it to the level you do is amazing. I think I speak for many of your subscribers when I say, fun is the important factor - for your health and your channels. We got you no matter what, eager to see what you decide on next; maybe pick something that YOU want to and not something we decide :)

I think it depends on whether the next series after this one-off video is the Couple to 3k series or just a solo series. For the Couple to 3k, we'll likely be picking whatever we think we can make work while still being new _and_ fun (:
If you're not having fun with fire mage then 100% drop it. I watch your videos because I like you, you could play any class and I'd watch.

Might have to make a few more like this, we'll see! It was time consuming, but with this style of editing it's a lot easier to get a longer runtime with not as much editing!

Yeah, I think having a tank play around me might make it more fun, but I think I'm just not cut out to play casters. Not even ranged, just... casters, hahaha
this is why i play frost. can't be bothered with pugs not pulling for combust. just slam icy veins on cd. st, cleave, aoe, we're chillin.
I'd probably be pretty poopy as Frost too, but hopefully a little less as I wouldn't depend as much on the group, hahaha

Yeah you do pretty great. ^^ Fire Mage is hard to play in Pugs esp. With the Ignite only Build. The Groupe need´s to play around you and your cd´s. But yeah i love all Your Vids and looked them many time´s ^^

Can't see myself trying ranged again for a _while_, but I can confirm Shadow Priest is super satisfying to play, tried it a bit in Season 2 and it was pretty fun, but had the same issue of underperforming (:
Hey, your start to the series did want to make me want to play fire mage (and i always wanted to try to play a ranged dps) but I'm feeling more and more that it was your charisma and editing style that made me want to play it and not the playstyle (that I do not apreciate) so I would much rather watch videos where you enjoy yourself than you having to struggle to play. So keep it up and I'm excited for what's next!

To add to my previous comment, I want you to do videos that you enjoy making not just videos that MIGHT bring in the most views. You pursuing content that you enjoy making will naturally draw more people in! Stress will also be reduced because you are enjoying yourself :)
That's a fair point, I get caught up in my head trying to make sure the community gets what it asks for, thinking I could deliver just about anything, but this series was definitely a reality check that I cannot perform on anything, not at a level I think is worth showcasing at least (:
@@Definitely_Not_Vlad I feel you were performing more than enough to showcase that you picked up a caster that you have never played and brough it to the level of 2800 alone without a preset team to run through. Go through and watch your journey, i can tell you would get upset about your dps not being enough but look at the other things you contribute that others wouldn't when they needed to. That being your utility. You didn't just mindlessly spam damage out and ignore things that could hinder your team. You played a build you liked and were more comfortable with, and that is okay! I run the same build you did, and play more utility because it does matter. I've now hit a baseline of +18 just before my 1 month mark of playing my first MMO with keybinds EVER! Just from watching your videos, learning from them and enjoying myself. I tried the meta builds to sweat and get the highest dps but I wasn't comfortable either and i did not enjoy it in the slightest. So don't let anyone, not even yourself, tell you that you aren't playing good enough to showcase something. Your content is fun to watch, is engaging and SUPER easy to learn from. Keep doing what you do and I cannot wait for the new video you plan to release! Especially if you have fun with it!
While I would want to tell you not to give up I also don't want you to forces yourself to not have fun. If you ever try a caster again, Frost has a lot similar rotation. I've been maining frost since I started playing in legion and I find it a lot more fun then fire and arcane. I find it gives me more time to thank and use my cc and utilities and I feel less of a glass cannon.
But I am glad you are focusing on fun more then finishing a video as that is most important. I can't wait for the next video, it sounds so fun!!
I might have to try Frost at some point just for the fun of it, without recording or anything, it always intrigued me, felt a lot more straightforward with more consistent damage, rather than being an all-or-nothing thing like Combustion damage windows (:

I can totally relate. Last patch I played sub rogue and it was great so I decided to play outlaw because it's rogue meta. I hate it so far. Fire mage is weird to me and I'm not sure I like it. We will see. Congratz on your 2,8k and I'm waiting for the next character.

I think a lot of people were noticing the issues you were having specifically with the fire mage as soon as you called out that you SHOULD be playing one build, but because of external factors and the tank moving things out of the flamestrike it felt bad, so you were going to play a different build.
I feel that, and a lot of people don't like Fire/Elemental/Destro/DK's for the same exact reason. There's a lot of grinding whenever you're doing keystones. You would have done great with the flamestrike build in 60-70% of the keys, but it's the 30-40% where the key is going -fine- and you walk away feeling like you didn't do much is what sticks. You're going to have the same exact problem with DK because I keep seeing that recommended and it's a thought. The mobs HAVE to be in the DnD for your Oblits to cleave, you'll play better in a key while you're learning it but do worse because of tank movement. Just listening to your commentary, I think the core of your issue is you felt like you were going forward and backward with learning the fire mage, not exactly that you hated the fire mage itself. You changed your build because it wasn't being consistent, then you weren't performing where you should and it lead you to being frustrated.
If you're looking for a less popular class that doesn't have those issues, I'd say Arms Warrior for next challenge. They just lack the utility, but to be fair you're not going to find many DPS that can content with the utility that your previous Ret or Enhance brought. If you want to retry the ranged series, MM hunter also fits that bill of not being common. Shadow Priest or Boomie would be a good go to if you want to retry the caster. If you want to retry mage at some point, you should try Arcane because Frost has a lot of the same issues; if the tank moves things out of your blizzard, you get less FO resets, and you get less instant casts and it feels bad.
Either way good series, there's a lot of specs that are out there and not every playstyle is going to be fun. You being able to take this and apply commentary to why you didn't like it was great. IMO, you should do a round table and find others that do the challenge and talk about what you liked/didn't like about the various different specs/roles that those have done the challenge on.
I get you, it's been the correct decision Vlad, I have seen all your series' and I can hear you getting frustrated with the mage haha. Just one tiny question though; WHY IS TABISAH NOT NEKKETTTT?!?!?!! :D

It's ok buddy. If you have to force yourself to play it then you have no fun. Just take a deep breath and come back with a class you have more fun with ;D

Just wondering... have you thought about trying Arcane or Frost? I know it's a Fire Mage push but if you're not enjoying Fire, I don't think anyone would mind you playing a different spec. Would be fun to see you learn those and you already have a good gear set
I feel it would be unfair to people that voted for Fire in the poll, but also, I think it's just caster in general that I'm not vibing with, so I figured I'd just end it. The video is pretty conclusive for the Mage character so I'll just do the one-off video I announced and then another series after it most likely. (:

The rotation isn't extremely hard, it can be rough during certain affixes where you have to spend globals to combat them, but the bigger issue is that if your tanks don't play around you, you won't get much value :(

Id still be a big appreciator to see you do ''monk to title" :) I think you can make it to title but i dont know if that makes good content for youtube. I did nearly make it to title in s1 and i dont think im better then you so i assume you can male it especially on a healer with short queue times
I don't think I'd enjoying pushing that hard. I'm actively throwing any time I commentate, and playing without commentary feels like a sure way to alienate people coming for the commentary as part of the videos, so I can't do that unfortunately. Besides, I personally don't think I'm a good enough healer to push title. (:
Fire mage is tough, man. Used to be my main for a couple patches. Its just so much more difficult to pull numbers on this spec than every other spec in the game. Its just not suitable for normal (17-23) pug keys in my opinion. I honestly wish more people watched this and stopped trying to force playing a fire mage only to be carried by other dps due to severe underperformance. People need to understand that just because its the rank 1 S tier spec this season for high keys, it doesnt necessarily translate to weeklys.

Its totaly fine to quit the Fire mage if its not fun. You tried and if its not for you, i think we all know that feeling :D Dont force yourself
It was starting to feel pretty bad. I think I did myself a disservice of not showing the keys that fail and where I get flamed (pun somewhat intended) for my lackluster DPS.

I also wanted to say you need to not be so hard on yourself! DPS doesn't mean anything. I noticed you really beat yourself up after not getting super high dps. Fire Mage is very complicated as well and some dps are very simple so ofc their rotation will give more dps. Just try not to beat yourself down so much. You can't always be the best dps but your dps does matter.
That's a fair point, and there's more than just my performance that's affecting the DPS, so rationally I shouldn't be upset about it, but it just feels bad when I can go on any of my other DPS characters and absolutely _destroy_ mobs and bosses alike, hahaha
I think to get to 3000 io Arcane would be better. Its generally way more fun and not that complex after the rework

Try frost maybe? I had the same experience on the outlaw rogue. They butchered it with shadow dance talent this expansion. Played since mid vanilla on a rogue and had way more fun on mist/windwalker this season.
I think I would have maybe made it work with Frost, at least I would have been able to perform better, but who knows, maybe I'd have butchered that too. I think it would have been unfair to everyone who voted Fire in the poll for me to just go Frost in the last, hardest bit.

sucks you couldn't do this as a Frost Mage. Much more enjoyable as far as PUGging as a Mage compared to Fire.
I did what the poll decided, would have been unfair to go against it, but I can imagine Frost being much more viable for a first-time caster player to perform on, especially in PUGs
Also, funny that you hate fire mage because it's unfun to you but you seemed to enjoy mistweaver and I'm the total opposite. Fire mage is so crazy fun for me but mistweaver felt like such a chore.
So sad, I seen this coming :( actually I also just gave up the fire mage fore this season before you started the series. Hoped you might be able to make it work and show how, but I guess then it's the same conclusion :( Sorry mon.

I wonder if you'd have enjoyed Demo lock more, but it has some snooze fest problems of its own. Spriest would have been even less fun given the reasons you cited for fire mage. Oh well, good try.

Mage is God comp too. Sure it’s hard but it’s so rewarding dude. Once you figure out what you’re doing, you’ll really see how OP fire mage is especially on Tyranical week. I mean imagine doing meh aoe but then pumping 2-4x the other dps on boss fight. It feels so good
Ps it does still pump in aoe, to be fair. You’re playing around the key level that ignite might not feel super great. But the higher the key levels the more your damage will be reflected better
To be fair you already get the gist of firemage. The only thing you’re struggling on which you probably know. Is not using your fire starter enough. You want to use things that will ensure you’re in combusting longest. So you don’t want to burn through your instant heating up guaranteed. Especially tyrannical bosses. You never really wanna combust off pull. You wanna combust when their hp is below 90%. I’m very Sadge you’re giving up I was really rooting for you to play fire mage! You’re like so close to really mastering the class!! 😢

The Bladestorm beckons... I always loved that ability. If I could have one wish granted in WoW, it would be that Bladestorm is a viable Class tree talent, rather than just an Arms talent. :D

Bladestorm is hands down my favorite button to press. It's just ridiculously satisfying, but I'm glad to hear you seem to like spinning away as well :)
It would be a treat for fury, but I think it's kind of distinguishes arms from fury as it's standout ability. But I also loved fury for the gameplay flow it had :D
Anyhow keep up the amazing work!

IDK about Diablo 4, but I was recently thinking about D3 Whirlwind Barbarian... I do have a tattoo on the back of my left hand of the Dust Devil rune, hahaha
