    The word genius gets thrown around a lot but in Martin Scorsese's case it is accurate.

    Huge thanks for sharing this video. Despite some very uncomfortable questions asked by the interviewer, this is a very interesting interview. It is the only time that I've seen Marty with tears in his eyes (talking about his parents). R.I.P Mr and Mrs Scorsese. And long live Martin Scorsese!!!🙏🙏🙏 -- Wish there were no watermark right in the center of the video.... It's a bit distracting.

    This is a much better interview than I was expecting, I hadn't seen this when it was on and I was expecting the usual. (It has "the usual" but with added dimension). Funny that she is saying he never had love scenes in his films: Casino was the movie he was promoting and there definitely were love scenes in that one. Age Of Innocence was a love story. The intense creepy (and masterfully handled) scene with De Niro and Juliette Lewis is a love scene, disturbing as it is, like it or not. (Ditto the scene with Keitel and Foster in Taxi Driver......and is there more electric chemistry than De Niro and Cybill Shepherd, even if they don't physically get together? Raging Bull has the long scene with Vickie tempting Jake until he has to dump ice water down his pants. That is definitely a steamy love scene, and that's not the only one in that movie. Now a whole flood of romantic or sexual tension moments are coming to mind, so.......that was a bad question!

    To this day Raging Bull is the greatest movie i have ever seen I had to watch it for a college class and I remember being reluctant because I thought it was going to be trash as it was about boxing which I had no interest in and in black and white but I remember remember watching riveted from start to finish the acting was so good I thought I was watching a documentary Scorsese is a genius and there is really nobody who has been able to duplicate him

    Yeah he was always the angry emotional type but it works for most of the movies he's done because so much of himself translates to whats on screen

    • @jessierong4306
      @jessierong4306 Před 10 měsíci

      I agree totally. Some very impolite questions. The interviewer really got some nerves there... Questioning him about having had four wives on TV... Jesus... He is being extremely kind and patient. Robert De Niro got asked similar questions regarding Taxi Driver and Hinckley and he almost cancelled the interview on the spot. And she made some incorrect remarks too, like the one about no love scenes in Marty's movies. Mean Streets, Who's That Knocking at My Door, Boxcar Bertha all had explicity sex scenes albeit by request of the producers/distributors of the movies. And what a strange thing to talk about that is?! So meaningless.

      @@TexasMan77 Erm I'm not sure. That's a bit stereotyping. I'm female, too. I have to admit I'm interested in these topics about him but not interested in watching him get questioned on TV about it. It's better suited for books or magazines. Plus it's the way the interviewer asks these questions that is an issue. Impolite and like others have said, condescending and judgemental...
