-Talking about ‘fear’ and using the word ‘industry’ and not WWE created a small loophole to AEW and to Tony himself being “afraid for his life.”
The quick run around the ring at the end was a good finishing touch to it toward the Young Bucks.
-He left naming the obvious opponent in Rollins up in the air when he said ‘Well, almost everybody.’
-Dropped a Dusty line (Planting a seed for a Cody feud at some point?)
-Shouted out the Wiseman, Paul Heyman. (Potential future feud with Roman? Perhaps maybe even a double cross?)
-Then of course, ‘I’m not here to make friends, I’m here to make money.”

The pipebomb was great because it’s what a lot of us wanted and needed at the time. It opened a lot of great doors. Now, WWE are doing a lot better and it feels really nice being able to say that after them being stuck under such a dull and dark cloud for such a long time. We waited out the storm and things are looking vastly brighter.
Well the wrestlers get better treatment (outside of storylines) but the shows are worse than they have ever been and its under HHH not vince
This new era of wwe under triple h is all about long term story telling so we gotta wait😂

That’s a great thing imo, I hate how Vince and TK just do things for instant gratification, it’s cool but it’s no much better when things are thought out and built to long term, it’s what modern wrestling lacks the most.
He’s the game and when you give developers time to make a game they are gonna make one worth that time.

The pipebomb will come eventually before his confrontation with Seth, whenever that happens. I can see them both cutting scathing promos on each other and Seth turning heel because Punk beats him or costs him the title or something and he feels Punk manipulated everyone. Down the road, when Punk eventually turns himself, Seth can be vindicated. The story could take a year to finish, but it'd be great television.
It was very mediocre on Raw last night. Rollins could not walk in his pointy boots and it wasn't that good of a segment

People didn’t necessarily expect what was said in the video, people wanted the promo punk dropped on smack down, so the people defending punks return promo on raw ended up being wrong since punk admitted the promo sucked because his time got cut
I think as an intro with the time it was great. Majority of wwe fans don’t watch other promotions. It’s only the hardcore fans feeling left out.
I think that’s the difference. The voiceless aren’t the voiceless anymore. CM Punk worked because the Indy guy didn’t work in 2000’s WWE. Now they’re everywhere, that’s style of promo doesn’t work anymore. Everyone already knows everything so why try.
You could be the greatest wrestler to ever live, but if you don't make a name for yourself you're just another jobber. He made himself a household name. Once you do that, you are never forgitten. There will always be a new generation of the voiceless. CM Punk will always be the one that was that first voice.
So much for the "it's not always greenery on the other side, it's greenery where you nurture it" promo.
He's on a leash now, burned most of his bridges in wrestling. Leverage wise Triple H didn't need to bring him back but saw cash opportunity in his return, wish he wasn't as scripted on mic but it a fine line with Punk's promos from turning a work into a shoot toxic work relationship.

I have to say in the vein of the Cody promos I don’t mind Punk being a little more “real”. I don’t know if it’s real or not, but it comes off that way to me. I’m glad that they have pulled the curtain back a little and allowed people to do these things. I think it makes for a better product in the end. I just hope Punk doesn’t do what he always seems to do and alienate the wrong people and make a mess. After his first live event match, I question whether he can get in there and wrestle for 25 minutes anymore, and maybe he doesn’t have to do that, but he needs to be viable in the ring and on the mic. He could be a great asset or an even greater liability. Time will tell.

He didn’t use that power negatively, the issue in AEW is Tony wants to be “one of the boys” instead of being the boss

The thing is CM Punk got exactly what he wanted, the landscape of the WWE today is exactly what he pushed for being the voice of the voiceless so if anything the story he can tell is that he did this he is responsible for the way WWE is now he can't tell a story where he shits all over it because quite frankly it's exactly what he asked for but when he can do is take complete credit for the way it is today I think that is a great move for his character and could even be a way to turn him heal if he let that get to his head and said you people are only here because I changed things because I made your arrival possible

There’s no way y’all not getting what he’s saying. Over time or not, he wasn’t giving that other worldly promo that mfs were expecting, simply because he doesn’t have to. You don’t think the WWE of all entities couldn’t have got him 5 more minutes. The product is actually good if you actually tune in. And tbh, I noticed you mentioned you were a causal; even you had to know he’d be back one day fam. The moment we saw him on AEW, it didn’t feel right. Gave them great matches and promos, but it never felt right. This was just a matter of time. However, he’s got very little leverage to work with in the wrestling world. He’s proved to be sometime hard to work with, including the locker room issues in both the company he returned to and the one he just left. There’s always issues with him. WWE saw an amazing cash grab and are cashed in when while the iron was still hot.

This is revisionist history..:CM Punk was popular but his popularity skyrocketed after the “pipe bomb.” In ring he’s okay with mostly stolen moveset. What he fails to mention is Shawn Michaels and to some extent Bret Hart didn’t fit the wwe mold either, they paved the way for smaller guys like Punk and Bryan to succeed. Punk’s promos now are mediocre because he has no pipe bombs and if does drop one…he finished with wrestling period. He needs wants/needs money so I don’t see a pipe bomb in the near future.
