  • Climbing the last lock flight to the summit of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal after a delay caused by a stoppage when a new narrowboat sunk in one of the locks.
Crossing the Yorkshire/ Lancashire border! Kay not happy!
Through Barnoldswick, visiting Bancroft Mill Steam Engine, through Saltersforth and on to the Foulridge Tunnel and The Lime Kiln

I like the way you've researched before and share trivia about the canal you're cruising through. It makes the vidio all the more interesting.
    Thanks for sharing 5⭐'s
    Edited to add,
Please get one of those fluffy things to go over the microphone to cut down on wind noise :)

lack of experience that flooded long boat, they didn't check to see all sides and both ends were clear of anything,

Very interesting and informative video fella . the Wigan flight has always been a problem for boaters ...
Unfortunately they have a tendency to be looking elsewhere . instead of concentrating on Thier boats.in these locks.
For over sixty years I lived on a narrow boat . and have unfortunately seen many narrow boats sink through the fault of owners lack of concentration..
I sometimes wondered if for some reason they allowed their boats to sink...
Anyway have a great new year..

    Interesting vlog thankyou !
Can i ask though , with all that knowledge,
Is there a reason why you cruise on the left hand side of the canal ?
You are aware we dont in this country , we cruise on the right and pass on the left yeh ...

I struggle with multi tasking Jason!
I intend to keep the boat in a straight line on the right but sometimes the filming distracts me!
Until another boat comes towards us , then I’m focused again!
Thanks for watching and commenting ,
      Paul

@@narrowboatmaggiemay of course Paul lol you get distracted and a boat coming the other way cruising properly breaks your distraction ... and you manoeuvre back into the right lane ...
      Lol yeh alright Paul ..

Nearly came to grief on these locks going down single handed.Fender got caught as boat went diagonally across lock.Happened so quick. Will wait to share lock or wait until it is manned.Lots of dangerous locks on this section (Gargrave eg>Take Care people.

I know this area very well, and it's lovely, however where you saw the two flags was not the border, this is where an immigrant from Lancashire lives and the local shop keepers love them as they SPEND money, whereas we all know copper wire was invented by two Yorkshire men fighting over a penny, my greatest love to all in Yakshire from over the border ❤ 🤣🤣🤣✋️
