- Judgment has been reserved in the electoral court, where the Umkhonto weSizwe Party is appealing the decision of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to uphold objections to former president Jacob Zuma's standing for public office. The court is set to hand down its order tomorrow.
MK Party senior counsel Advocate Dali Mpofu says declaring Zuma ineligible to stand for public office is a violation of his rights. Supporters of Umkhonto WeSizwe Party have braved the wet and cold weather and have gathered outside court show support for Zuma.

Thats true only if one can successfully politicise issues whose nature is fundamentally constitutional and legal. Factually khangaman has a 15 months imprisonment term criminal record. Question is can a President alter a court sentence without a review, appeal or reconsideration. Does a presidential pardon or remission interfer with the record of sentence or it merely interferes with the imprisonment term to be served? I can tell u all other convicts who benefited from pardon and remission retained their criminal records until same were expunged. Why should it be different with khangaman .
