Soccer positions explained.
Each team has 11 players on a field.
This includes 10 outfielders and a goalkeeper.
The most common setup is known as the Four Four Two.
This has four defenders, four midfielders, and two forwards.
Each position has a specific area of the field that they cover.
We will explain to you all the soccer player's positions on the field including Goalkeeper, Forwards, Centre forwards, Second Strikers, Winger, Midfielders, Defenders, Centre back, Sweeper, Wing back and a Full backs.

I didn't read through all the comments to see if this was already mentioned. In the video, you say the GK may use his or her hands in the goal area. Yes, that's true, but the GK may use his or her hands in the penalty area of which the goal area is a small part. Also, you say that the GKs use the "drop kick to get the ball as far away from their own goal as possible". Most GKs "punt" the ball rather than do a "drop-kick". The motivation behind these varies on the circumstances. In most cases, however, it's not to get the ball as "far away from the goal as possible". Usually, it's offensively minded. GKs advance the ball to help the attack.

I’m watching this because I am hoping to play soccer after Covid is finished. I am not that good but I am watching videos and improving. To anyone who also wants to learn to play soccer remember to never give up no matter what someone says to make you feel like you want to give up!😁
I’m 13 years old and pretty short, I have really good dribbling and I’m pretty fast. I mostly play in the streets and I’m left footed. I’m having trouble deciding a position so I hope I can get help through the comments.

My street player, first of all I want you to learn this quote "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog" (Think about it) Second, from your comment seems like you haven't played for a team, I suggest you to join a team (many soccer players started playing on the streets somewhere) A coach could help you more by observing your playing skills, remember soccer is a team-sport meaning you are an important piece of the puzzle, no matter what position you play. Third, keep in mind you still are in a growing age, do not feel discourage, once that a coach observes you would be able to try you out on the field and help you to learn how to play a position, in the mean-while improve your technique. NEVER underestimate your height. You should try playing midfield or striker, but play more to the left so you can center or shoot the ball from the left. As a fast person, midfield would be good, because you can chase down the ball on defense, or as striker you can get fast breakaways.

Ive fallen in love with soccer both fifa 20 on my xbox one and playing in real life as a winger for the time being until I get better. To me it's just so much more Interesting than American football. I never liked sports games cause i never understood them and i would always get killed in madden and 2k games against my brother but when we play fifa he cant touch me lol

You can’t do a corner kick on your own side of your field, just an FYI because that is important to know.
What happens if the opposing team kicks the ball out of bounds within your team's goal box?
It doesn’t matter when they play the ball out of bounds. If the ball crosses the base line of the field, and it is off the attacking player, it’s a goal kick, if it’s off a defending player, it is a corner for the attacking team. Further more, if the ball goes out on the side line, then it is a throw in for the team that didn’t touch it last.

the goalkeeper CAN'T touch the ball when the defender (or any player) of his own team passes the ball to him by foot, if the defender passes the ball with their head or chest then it's ok for the goalkeeper to grab it. otherwise it's foul with free kick

This guy knows very little about the roles of individuals on the field of play. First off, I know squat about soccer. But come World Cup time as a rabid sports fan I promise myself to figure out the sports massive appeal. I'm still confused. Synchronized swimming is more exciting. To me it looks like 10 guys who can kick a ball qualifies and the sports biggest names fail to display they're any better than the next guy. Thanks for trying to educate. It must be me.
