  • This project was done about 6 years ago, so I only have some sequence of photos of the whole process. "I wish I had filmed it". So the story behind this project was this lady who was very interested in baby farm animals, so when this Still born piglet was available she didnt let it go to waste. And since Im always up for new projects and new challenges , I never said no to it. So I tried to explain exactly what I did and I used all the photos I had taken to create this slideshow. hopefully you will find it useful. enjoy.

    Many, many, moons ago, while working for another Taxidermy firm, I had to mount a Wild Boar Piglet -about the same size as the Piglet in your video - replete with the little horizontal stripes they are known for. I molded and cast the carcass in plaster, wrapped the leg bones, and placed the little tyke on a basic habitat base. It came out pretty nice, and the client was very happy with my efforts.

    So the body of that form was made from just carving foam? It'll never cease to amaze me how effective some of the simplest things could be 🤔

    • @ArtofTaxidermy
      @ArtofTaxidermy  Před 3 lety

      Yes... simple carving on a block of foam. If you have the foam and the patience to carve it you can literally mount any animal.

    If you could do this over again, what would you do different? I think it turned out great but two years later what would you change if anything at all?

    • @ArtofTaxidermy
      @ArtofTaxidermy  Před rokem +1

      Id do the same thing all over again... the only difference would be that the end product would be better and quicker.. only due to more experience.

    What kind of plastic did you use for the ear liners and where can you purchase it.

    • @ArtofTaxidermy
      @ArtofTaxidermy  Před 8 měsíci

      I just found some clear plastic around the shop,, it wasn’t any special material. If I wanted to do it today I’d use the thermoplastic sheet they sell ..
