    I love that I can plug it into any regular outlet. As for how long it takes, I just plug it in at home, and unplug it before going to bed. No problem. If it bothered me, I could install a 240v outlet. And remember, this is not only an electric car--on a full tank (about 11 gallons) and a full charge, it has a range of over 600 miles! I love having gasoline and electric together.

    I love my Prius Prime 2017. I charge it every time I return from daily errands, and enjoy quiet, electric driving for most trips at a cost of about $20/month for electricity. I only use gasoline for long trips.

    • @aaronlowe3156
      @aaronlowe3156 Před 4 lety +4

      That's the point. It's EV etiquette. If someone else needs charging and your battery is full, the car should allow someone else to charge. Hogging it when you don't need it is not particularly polite.

    • @aaronlowe3156
      @aaronlowe3156 Před 4 lety +1

      Also, the Prime's battery is significantly smaller than other BEV's. Considering that at a public station, the battery could be charged in 50 minutes- that's relatively short compared to the hours it takes on fully electric vehicles. So this vehicle will be filling up quite quickly because of its small battery. So other people need the charge more.

      @jwuhome yes, we certainly have it now. We can see reconditioned one's occasionally. People don't buy the Prime much either, as a 5 years old reconditioned Prime costs 42,000 USD after taxes in our country. The regular prius costs 37,000 USD, which is also a 5 years old reconditioned Japanese vehicle.

It is now sitting in my driveway with the plug-in partition fully charged. That will give me around 26 miles of electric range tomorrow. My running average is 72 mpg over close to 2K miles.

    • @HJC1950
      @HJC1950 Před 7 lety

      You don't actually have to ever charge the car. I got it from the dealer with no charge. I like to keep mine charged, perhaps every other day. The range on my car, when fully charged, is 30 miles or more. The car defaults to EV mode when the plug-in partition of the battery pack still has charge. There is no limit on range - I can drive my car as far as I want as long as I can refuel, which of course is almost everywhere.
