Music in my videos come from Epidemic Sound! 🎵
www.epidemicsound.com/referra...
That’s my iOS app 😊 so happy you are promoting it, the more people use the happier it makes me, I just coded it to make it extremely easy for people to change rails and or batteries
Nice work! We appreciate you for making it dead simple for us!! TYSM!!
Does your app work in the same fashion as the Bluetooth nRF Connect app?
@@chrishoward5687 Yes and no. nRF is a general purpose Bluetooth app to connect to devices and send any commands. My app doesn't allow you to send any command to any bluetooth characteristic you want, it connects to the board, and sends the right commands to the right characteristic to get the board level recalibrated. Basically it automates what you do in nRF manually to level your board.
@@conradopoole I’m getting An error of “your battery temperature is out of its safety range” any fix?
@@saucedogee5073if your board/battery is really not that hot/cold, that error normally means that one of the temp sensors (NTC thermistor) is defective/broken and has an open circuit.
Sick ❤
Super excited for the lowriders! really good video, was really confused to see another WTF video so soon lol
Love this! DIY FTW! 🙌🏼
I’m convinced I gotta get them steep and deep rails 💯🔥
Man, that color combo looks awesome.
Great video. I may buy a new GT just to kit out as a trail board with WTF’s. Thanks for the video!
Seeet! Another awesome review Mr. Ginter, keep ‘‘em coming ✊
Thx! 💙
Words cannot describe how excited I am right now that this works on XR
Just bought low rider rails! Stoked!!
Bad ass helpful vid Ty!
Great video! I just got the regular WTFs but might switch too.
Your videos are really good. Keep making reviews! I subbed.
Thanks!! 🤙🏼
great video , keep em coming
Thanks, will do!
Thanks for this brother 🤙🏻🤙🏻
No problem 👍
Great video bud!
Thanks!
Can't wait to get mine installed! bet they are good for curb climbs too!
Took a minor adjustment, but yea, climbed some monster curbs yesterday pretty easily 🤙🏼
@@ThatsGinterEV noice! what kind of adjustment was needed? About to install them!
@@AshlonHill the approach is mostly the same since you already have the clearance, just gotta push down a bit more on the nose since it’s tilted up further.
Great video! Would love an update after all this time. My biggest question is your opinion on how much they effect street riding? I’m like dead 50/50 street and trails. Trails are what I love though 😅
Another great video. Send the old rails my way I’ll give them a try 😎. Great video, we miss Mikey?
😂
Great instructional video.
Thank you for putting this out.
One question- I just installed my new WTF deep n steep, and the lifesavers following your videos. But I can’t seem to be able to reinstall my magnetic fender.
The fender delete does not fit the shape of the WTFs.
Any suggestions?
Yea, unfortunately standard fenders won't work anymore...maybe if you can find a 3d print that extends the mounting points, but haven't tried that personally. Most people I know who still want a fender buy the TFL Drop Top Fender, which is nice cause it's also easily removable. It's a little pricey, but feel free to use my 5% off code to save a few bucks "THATSGINTER" thefloatlife.com/products/drop-top-fender-kit-gt?_pos=1&_sid=7d53db80f&_ss=r
Thanks for linking the balance app my pink wtfs will be here next week! What dye did you use on the life savers?
No problem!! I used graphite colored synthetic rit dye on white life savers with some hot glue to mask out parts of it - amzn.to/3CkvUzN
@@ThatsGinterEV sweet that’s what I’ll buy, I’m hoping I can make a Tiffany and pink combo. Thanks man love the vids!
Would you recommend leaving the motor cable plugged in when changing out the rails or unplugging it? I saw in the Float Life rail change video they unplugged it but that might've been just b/c they were going to change the tire anyways.
I try to reduce how many times I unplug my cables...just cause I know they can break and wear out more. That said, I'm very careful when I do rail changes as things do like to "collapse" when the last screw/bolt is removed lol.
@@ThatsGinterEV Makes sense. Thank you much!
I’m getting a HOT OR COLD error every time I try to initiate the recalibration with the yellow bar and it’s says the battery is out of normal range. Any idea how to get around this?
Need a solution for new firmware. Got blindsided getting & installing WTFs on my GT-S with no releveling solution :(
SO which is better standard WTF or steep n deep especially for handling /carving feeling n feet n foot tension in long riding
If you don't need nose clearance, standard WTFs would be my choice.
my man need new content thanks for delivering.
Awesome vid! Please show us how to level with Andriod!
Did you buy or print those fender deletes? All the ones I found so far do not fit my printer bed.
Hey Scott, it's actually a stock FM GT Fender that I cracked a while back...I just cut it to fit. It was bugging me that I didn't have that downward guard protecting my cable plugs behind the controller.
Just installed my with this video(thanks!) Only issue is that my stock fender delete doesn't fit with the steep and deeps. Do you have a url for the ones you got or know any out there that are compatible? ✌
Awesome, glad the vid helped!! I currently just use a cut stock fender, but I know floatershack makes some that fit, check out their options! floatershack.com/products/fender-delete-for-onewheel-gt-with-lightning-rails-wtf-rails-mustache-rails
As always cool vid !!
Have you already tried the new Street pro 2 tire ??
Thx! and yea, I tried out a friend's board with it...sooo grippy and quiet!! Thought I usually prefer tread for trails, I kept hearing good things about it, so I snagged one for later. Was planning on buying a 2nd GT for a street board build, but then that FM battery bill came in and made me re-think things. 😑
@@ThatsGinterEV I'm in the similar but reverse boat. I mostly do street riding, so the low riders are probably going to be main rails, once they come out. I have the Street Pro 2 on my WTFs. As soon as the FF GOAT comes out I'll be getting a second GT to house that and the S&D rails that are just hanging out in my home office.
Great content as usual! At some point I wonder though, if you don’t end up circling back to a similar effective geometry to stock. Does the foot-pad angle improve lock-in with added stability vs stock? The low-ride street models make geometry sense but does the deeper “W” really bring much improvement off-road and on? The 357 rails also look interesting as does the cheaper VRH system 🤔
The 357 rails give the same clearance in front as the standard WTFs (3.5°) and the rear has a 7° angle (hence 357 rails)
The VRH just does a simple lift or drop, no angle shaping. When you're using the WTF, S&D, and 357s, it is changing the approach angles along with roughly a half inch lowering for the added stability. The angles are to compensate for that effect, bringing the front edge of the 357 and WTFs to the same height as stock. The S&D version gives you higher than stock clearance.
@@SeanPaulNotTheSingerlegend, thanks
Yea, it's usually a tradeoff. Lowered board gives you more stability and control (great if you are on streets and/or usually riding on level ground). More clearance of course helps with steep slopes and avoiding nose hunting on chunky terrain. I forgot to mention it, but I'm liking the extra clearance for the deep corner pushing for sharp pivoting, but also the extra lee-way for acceleration and braking!
@@ThatsGinterEV Yeah I guess the pertinent question whether the foot pad angles just effectively raise your COG back to stock or do they really improve stability (lower COG) while also giving you better approach/departure angles to avoid nose hunting?
I rode the VRHs before WTFs were out, and while I loved the lower center of gravity, the lack of clearance was a big problem: I had no brakes on anything slightly downhill. Loving the standard Ws but also picked up S&Ds and can’t wait to give ‘em a run
Can I use the test flight and leveling app on the newest 6153 update (and android)?
If you have the firmware update that brought Haptic Buzz, then no. Unfortunately FM blocked access to re-level without an intrusive bypass on the mainboard to rollback firmware.
@@ThatsGinterEV what a crappy thing. Thanks for the reply!
It says I need to get a email or code in order to do this, any help ?
It was pretty instant for me when I installed the app. Try uninstalling and re-installing again. Otherwise, you can email the developer here: conrado.poole@gmail.com
What tire pressures do you ride at? On pavement if u change it.
And how do the steeps feel vs the standards as far as feet feel? 5° not to much angle on the ankles?
I’m usually riding around 14 PSI. But I also weight around 140lbs. So I follow the 10% of your weight rule. Sometimes I’ll inflate it to 18 PSI for streets if it’s going to be a long group ride so I have more range. 🤙🏼
5 degrees is fine for me, no issues, but I shuffle my feet a lot. It might be uncomfortable for long straight rides, especially if you have a wider stance, but I cannot confirm.
The standard WTFs have a 3.5° angle with the steep and deeps rocking the 5° angle.
Those fenders look tight against the tire. Might have to shave them down a touch.
yea, it's super tight!!
How about the battery cable being too short? or having enough slack to connect the motor cable back? Could you please let me know the issues you had installing it….I have asked this same question in a few places but have not received a response ... Thanks!
Hiya, I personally have not had that issue, but I have heard of others that encountered it. I'm told if it's short, you can loosen the plastic nut where it connects to the controller box and get a little more slack, but again, haven't done it myself. As with any mod, just take it slow. Hope this helps!
Yes! Thank you so much! You are the best!!
23:06 what tire pressure do you use for trails?
Usually between 12-14 PSI. I weight about 140lbs. Start at 10% of your weight, then lower as needed. 🤙🏼
Have you tried the VRH from Landsurf?
I have not. They look interesting though and I'm sure you get a more stable ride, but at a loss of nose/tail clearance.
Does the leveling still with with the new GT firmware?
Unfortunately it will not work the firmware that added Custom Shaping 3.0.
I heard they’re uncomfortable because of the higher upward curve is that true?
It probably depends on the person. Shoes, leg length, foot size perhaps...etc. I don't find these uncomfortable, but my ride style is also much more dynamic. I shift my feet a lot so I don't get much tension as someone who rides flat ground for long distances in a locked position.
While I'm not 100% what the screws the GT controller box uses but if it's the same as the pint the replacement is an m4x8mm
I think it is the same, thx for the info!!
Does this work on the gts???
Regrettably, it does not. I'd look into The Float Life Dub Tails instead, no re-level required for updated GT or GTS! thefloatlife.com/products/gt-gt-s-homebrew-rails-dub-tails?variant=44993969127646
I tried setting a One Wheel land speed record on the Playa in the Black Rock Desert a few weeks ago....maybe the WTF Steep and Deep rails would have helped lol...
depends....if it's flat, maybe a lower center of gravity setup would keep you more stable at high speeds....
@@ThatsGinterEV Just joshing with ya Ginter....I did go pretty fast... for me... out on the Playa....and it is flat....really flat for a long ways. Shot some video for proof....
czcams.com/video/AonDdhz3twM/video.html
Where did you get those life savers?!?
Hey Matt! They are basic white GT lifesavers from The Float Life. I used synthetic Rit Dye to give it that patterned look with the charcoal color. Just had to layer it up with some hot glue. 🤙🏼
I hope FM is sending replacement screws?! I'm still mad for you on that... #FFM but you're right... Happy Video, Happy Thoughts! 😂
Okay I see you got new screws with the new bumpers. But, I stand by my comment #FFM 😜
lol...I mean, I still am missing one security screw on the controller box!
Will the leveling work with the new update?
Nope, it won’t work if you update to the latest firmware. 😢
@@ThatsGinterEV so what happens and how does it ride with no leveling?
@@th3s41ntAlso curious about this, just installed them today and only workaround I found is uptilt in shaping but it messes up switch riding
Super nice video, my brother, 🤙🤙 how would you do it on an Android device
I think most use NRF connect, takes a few more steps, but doable!
Thank you so much, brother.🤙🤙
Can you use your ipad to level your board and then use your Android phone, or will the leveling go off?
Top 3 accessories for the GT?
1. Surestart,
2. Rails that drop your center of gravity,
3. Tire.
All others fall behind those three.
After that, padded grip tape (foamies, ignite...), and footpads. Both of which go to making things more comfortable
For me (and for trail riders):
1) ANY aftermarket Tire
2) Surestart
3) Rails
I have been eyeballing that billet wheel, but a bit spendy...
We miss Mikey!!
I agree lol
How do I do this after the update
Unfortunately, no easy way to do it after the haptic buzz update. I think some were saying you can rollback, but would require you to have had a backup or something.
@@ThatsGinterEV unfortunately I had no clue of having a backup of my board. I’m not that smart but, I wish I would’ve thought of it before FM pushed the update and now I don’t want anything to do with FM lol.
I’m just bummed out I have to ride my stock rails and put my steep&deeps back in the box 🙃
Hello why do you need to level WTF ? what will happen if you don't?
Hi Adam. The Onewheel software wants to keep the board leveled, or parallel to the ground in a default state. This is measured by a sensor on the mainboard that is housed under the front footpad. So to be more specific, the front of the board wants to be parallel to the ground by default.
With straight rails, if the front of the board is level, the whole board is level. With WTF rails that is not the case. When the sensor levels the board with WTF rails, it will level the front of the board, but by doing so, the back of the board is angled up, and you'll have a nose down feeling.
You can still ride like this, but it will feel awkward as you're constantly leaning forward and most of your weight is on your front foot. The WTF or "Wow They're Fast" name makes sense for these rails because if you don't re-level them, in order to ride comfortably, you'd want to ride at full speed all the time to engage Pushback, thus leveling the board.
Hope this helps! 🤙🏼
@@ThatsGinterEV thanks a lot for the extensive explanation :), do we have any restrictions on the GT version?
Yes do android video
My flat pads are the best thing Ive done so far!!!!
Yeah - it's weird getting on someone's stock concave foot pads for me now....
Android please
Awesome video, thank you. Let's show android some love.
We’ve got a video that covers Android on our channel if you want to check it out. 🤙🏼⚡️🛠️
