Luke Deeley told officers he'd "been on a hike, I have bro" when they approached to arrest him, but the 25-year-old art student was actually on the run for carrying out one of the most brutal attacks South Wales Police has ever investigated.
Days earlier he had entered the home of a 65-year-old stranger, grandmother June Fox-Roberts, and decapitated her with an axe.

As long as "care in the community" goes on, we will see much more of this kind of thing. Also I'm sick of mental illness being "normalised" now, with many people even proud of any diagnosis. I remember this when it happened everyone was just in total shock, I live 5 mins away we didn’t know if the murderer would strike again! I feel so much sorrow for the daughter that found her mum without a head, (which was missing) they later on discovered it…I can’t start to imagine the shock of it 😢

Dude has mental problem he can’t exactly switch off, what he did was inhuman and he should be removed from society forever but the thing that led him to do that wasn’t his fault so I wouldn’t sit comfortably with the state executing him.😊
my initial thought is that the killer should be executed, obviously he's got a dreadful psychotic disorder so perhaps not, i dread to think what has caused him to be in the mental state he's in and to then commit such a heinous crime, drug use perhaps? a shocking case which once again calls in to question the treatment and handling of people with severe mental issues, one thing that strikes me about the police is how civil they are towards such suspects, i don't agree with this approach, i'm not saying they should steam in sweeney style but they aren't serving coffee in a cafe!

@@Clare0116 shotgun licences are quite cheap and you don't need to give a specific reason for wanting one on your application. It's only when you apply for rifles and other firearms that you have to give your reason for wanting one on the forms.
Shotguns are pretty cheap too, you can get a decent enough one for 80 quid.
