The modern look does not look stylish or polished. Also, buying clothes for trends that you don't plan to wear for more than a season is unsustainable.
"As of 2023, The fashion industry produced a startling 97 million tons of waste annually, of which 18 million were leftover textiles, 2.5 million were chemical waste, and 3 million were packaging materials."
I know very little about fashion, so I will take your word for it. But for me I dress with what I think if flattering on my body, not what is in fashion. So yeah, I would go with #1.
This is why I can't do fashion theory. All the reasons why the first look sucks are logical and make sense on paper, but it looks way better in reality. I've been watching some Japanese makeover videos and almost every girl looks way better before than after, even though all kinds of color and style theory have been applied.
The model kept moving while wearing the second pair. I think the first pair looked great! I'm noticing these comparisons because the fashion industry wants us to have a reason to shop. I don't know when that will happen because many people are more concerned about putting food on the table and a roof over their head!
I love the updated look for a modern twist, but feel that it wouldn't be as flattering on a pear-shape. I've tried so many wide-leg jeans, but they make me look bottom heavy.
I prefer the first one, it looks better on you
I like the first look with the smaller bag
The first combo was so much better

Nothing wrong with the first outfit. I am a classic and the second pair of pants is a "no-go" for me
I liked the first jeans better. The first look much better.
The first outfit was much better. The 2nd jeans are just wrong.
I'd probably just change the bag to a crossbody, but I honestly prefer the first one better
First one looked great

Your "before" scenario is better than I could ever do in my wildest imagination
Love your style so much, I really liked the first outfit! 🙈🫶🏻🩵
First look is definitely better for work
I like the first outfit better

Ti sta meglio il primo outfit.
