Huacachina is a village in southwestern Peru, built around a small oasis surrounded by sand dunes. The small natural lake in the desert, called the "oasis of America." This is the perfect place for dune buggies and sandboarding!
Legend holds that the lagoon was created when a beautiful native princess removed her clothes to bathe, but looking into a mirror, she saw a male hunter approaching her from behind. Startled at the intrusion, she fled the area leaving behind her mirror which turned into a lake. Other versions hold that she fled, leaving the pool of water she had been bathing in to become the lagoon. The folds of her mantle, streaming behind her as she ran, became the surrounding sand dunes. And the woman herself is rumored to still live in the oasis as a mermaid.

I love the golden hour lighting! Aww the dog running towards the drone is so cute. I really don't think of deserts when I think of Peru! I always thought of it as cold there, haha :)
I was surprised as well when we got to this place, but as its close the coast the attitude is closer to sea level then most places in Peru which are high up.

Hele mooie beelden! Ik ben momenteel ook in Peru, ben ook in Huacachina geweest en heb ook drone-beelden geschoten (DJI Spark). Echter is deze gister verdronken in de Amazone van Peru door een loslatende batterij (en dus de Spark te water en de data kwijt). Zou ik een kort stukje van jou mogen gebruiken in m’n video (privaat gebruik, non-commercial). Ik wil graag het stukje met de buggy’s (gefilmd met drone) gebruiken, slechts ca. 10sec. Is dat akkoord?
