for all of you complainning about 1:20, this is not "game of thrones" or "spartacus"..this is "Metal Hurlant" if any of you complainners don´t know what is this then search about it and stop complainning. It is a magazine about scifi and fantasy mixed. Know in the USA as "Heavy Metal Magazine"

The first season aired in Europe back in October 2012 and can be procured if you know where to look. Syfy just finally picked it up. Took them long enough. This is a surprisingly good series.

For how bad the trailer looks this is actually a great series based off a great scifi anthology comic series like Heavy Metal.

You're right to be confused because this "adaption" is entire confused about the essence of its own existence.
Its supposed to be Frank Frazetta meets the race for space, with Moebiu's integrity for the hero's journey-- more an adventure though the vast timeless interior than banal machismo jousting.

if this is based on the excelent terrific comic of the 80´s, 90´s, i would really love to see some masterpieces like Blue from Gauckler-Houssin, or Aleph Tau from the talented illustrator Arno and the genius Jodorowsky! there were a lot of fascinating stories, this is something that deserves a good production and not only martial arts and sex

It's suppose to be the comic book Heavy Metal. It was called Metal Hurlant when it first came out in the 70s.

Sounds like it, but it's actually the music from the 2009 Star Trek trailer, Freedom Fighters by Two Steps From Hell.
It is an old tradition to use music that sounds great the trailer even if it is not in the movie.
Now you just need someone saying the word "Metal Hurlant" like the announcer of the old Blaupunkt commercials in Germany.

It's an anthology series.
This trailer doesn't make the series justice IMO, it makes it look like some cheesy GoT like somebody mentioned. This is a collection of mini movies/anthology series and each has different actors and self contained stories.
Does it have the best acting and props, probably not, but it makes you think about things in the story of each episode. This trailer only shows mostly clips from the 1st and 5th episode.
So for people that never seen or heard anything about Métal Hurlant Chronicles/Heavy Metal
(US) I would suggest to look it up before making your judgement.

The LEAST they could've done was use realistic LOOKING props. I understand the premise is about as far from realism as one can get, but this looks horrendous.

heavy metal has multiple civilizations on multiple planets so this one i am guessing is the planet Neverwhere from the scene called Den in the heavy metal movie cartoon were teenager from earth finds a green meteor and it sucks him into another world called Neverwhere thats why theres a meteor at the begining cause the this first season is in Neverwhere

This show is actually worse than the trailer!!!!! The best scene was when Michael Jai White was jumping toward the robot even though the most the robot moved was when it lifted it's arm.

Well, that's the reverse for me. Never heard about Heavy Metal before today, but Metal Hurlant magazine is something I've known before the age you're supposed to.
Wow that looks bad. From the little pop-ups I saw during Warehouse 13 I thought it would be a kick ass, heavy metal themed show with three badass babes as the star. I didn't think it'd be Not-Spartacus with porn-level acting and for some reason robots.
I want an AKIRA animated movie (oh wait, there already exists)

From what I saw I Metal Hurlant, I felt misled. I couldn't connect to the bizarre stories even when I wanted to .

I COMPLETELY missed what this show is about. This trailer is so confusing... Robots, Spartacus, metal that's been out-lawed, hot girls, lots of fighting on a small round stage like that one Jet Li movie... wtf?
