    That last purple belt had a pretty Ko Uchi Gari and tried a lot of different stuff! Much respect to him!
    Also, does the purple belt exist in US judo? In most of Europe we just go from blue to brown, this kind of stuff always catches my eye 😅

      Depends on affiliation and club/dojo rules really. We're USAJ and go from White > Green > Blue > Brown > Black... no purple.

    The second guy is the type where it is really annoying to spar against. Having a too tight Gi, stalling while trying to prevent every grip until at one point you are too tired to gripfight anymore. Any tips on what to do against this type of judoka?

      After some struggling with radical/strokes lookup, his surname is Gotō. I think he might be Gotō Ryūtarō, the picture on his IJF profile looks fairly similar and Gotō Ryūtarō did win a junior championship in 2014. I think the kanji underneath that say that he's affiliated with Mitsui & Co, which also accords with Gotō Ryūtarō's JP Wikipedia page.

    at 0:56 does that count as sumi-gaeshi or is that not a valid throw for judo? i.e. do you get credit for a throw like that?

    5:35 Why did he attempt tomoe right at the wall? That's a dick move tbh. 5:50 that was close too, he could have hit the others or the wall.

    • @JK-nh6jp
      @JK-nh6jp Před 3 měsíci +5

      these guys have a bit more control, they wouldn't yeet them into the wall, they would both avoid the wall once the throw is in the process. They're not worried about flying into the wall since they have good body control.
      I do like to see a little bit slower rounds myself but i don't think it's a d move when you are at this level.
